the link is http://www.roof-of-africa.com/index.php, sorry oldguy you posted the wmcc link twice

I found a list of results different to the ones listed which have since been taken down, After the round the houses stage, Chris was in 2nd, 30seconds behind Jade Gutzeit on the BMW. total time was around something like 1:27:34s , so not really a long stage, this was for thursday.
But from the sound of it after reading the WMCC article, sounds like there was more than 1 time trial on Thursday

prize money for the winner is around 19,000 NZD ~ 100,000 rand
we may just go where no ones been

13:57 - 21 competitors have left Ramabanta on the final stage to Roma

13:05 - Lettenbichler has just left Ramabanta on the final 52 km section to the finish at Roma trading Post, ahead of Jade Gutzeit who rides shotgun on the second BMW. they are followed by Rory Mead, Kenny Gilbert, and Darryl Curtis.

08:50 - Andreas Lettenbichler (Germany) just left Ramabanta into Baboons Pass ahead of jade Gutzeit (South Africa), Kyle Redman (USA) and Rory Mead (New Zealand)

08:44 - Chris Birch returned to the start because he landed on the wrong route, he was just restarted

So Exciting! NZ 1 and 2. that is just incredible.

I wish I had the Balls to ride competitivly. My body is so worn nowadays though.... I go for a ride and bits drop off- its a bit like having a Shineray or a Hummer
Retired- just some guy with a few bikes......

Sad thing about it all, is yet another motorcycle event, with kiwis at the top of there game, will go unnoticed by the rest of the country out side the motorcycling community.
Not only did Chris win it last year, but successfully defended it this year, and to have Rory Mead finishing runner up, just bloody awesome, but no one will know, because the AB's game will over shadow it.

I always thought Ollie Sharp was an MXer, that would have to be a big leaning curve for him.

    Well done Guys
