    If Yammy thinks....

Making a 2min 45sec video and riding on the laurals of the Tenere of old will sell this beast?
    Naa...Don't think so.
That was a load of crap, worse than Fair Go's worst ad of 2009...
We will have to wait and see what this entails I guess. A 1200cc shaft drive bike with lots of chrome and a 19 litre tank... A real Adventure bike.....NOT!

The Japanese are just not getting it. Well not from a kiwi point of view. These will probably sell like hot cakes in europe where their idea of adventure is a little different.

Don't bet on it being 1200 either, as it would be a lot easier to get the old TDM donk out of the bin and recycle it. Gonna be a bastard to ride with all those flappy bits around the front.
I like all motorcycles equally, but some more equally than others.

I thought these Yammys were designed in France now? Am I wrong?

A new vid, with full bike pics.

Not a Yamaha genuine release however and only shows one side so I'm somewhat sceptical, if this is real it looks a lot like the 660.

    Good music however...
Yes, me thinks there is a lot of Adobe work there on the colour options etc. The high guard looks good though. I want a yellow one but I bet all NZ and Aus gets is grey and white...

Nope parralell twin like the TDM and S10's. Gearbox and clutch are up high behind the cylinders. Keeps the weight low for a slightly lower centre of gravity. Bike still weigh's a ton though!!

How heavy do ya reckon she'll be? The ally framed tediums are miles lighter than the steel framed 850's.

Was hoping for belt or shaft drive but I reckon she'll be chain driven.

Wonder if they'll bring out a "little brother" 900cc edition like the beemer 800's.

Yamaha's marketing department has reinvented teasing. They're doing something similar with the upcoming FZ8.

A danger with the tease strategy is the reality not matching the anticipation.

Not sure what the TDM's weigh in at. The old S10 is around 230kg's. BMW's are slightly more than that, so I would like to think they would be lighter than that. Ideally less that 200kg but I wouldn't count on it!
