I said it was today ''I've got you down for tomorrow'' Oh bugger,so we settled for the next afternoon.
It all went well,I haven't had this guy for the Performance Revue System, but he was my inspector in the Motosafe days,so we know each other. The Motosafe reigeme was ISO 9002,all about paperwork and not the inspection, some very pissed off WoF inspectors,so the LTSA took over and now it's more biased to the inspection, the paper work only kills AVIs,not roadusers. We did the inspection on my Cuzzies Corolla, that'll teach her to leave her car with me while she lives it up in Greece. It's hard keeping track with an inpection where you are doing things you never bother to do in real life, just when he's watching, but I only slipped up in a couple of areas (check that the centre belt is adjustable, use a lever for lower ball joints).
The paper work is always my downfall,I just don't do it,period. We are supposed to do a self audit at least once a year, and I had...''you should date these revues when you do them'' ...I didn't put a date on because the ink might of smudged,it'd had overnight drying when he looked at it.They pick my busiest day, print it out and then check that my records match, that's the day I'll most likely slip up.All he found was a checksheet where I checked the car one day and entered the result the next, they don't like that.'Um,ah,that one stayed overnight and I did it in the morning...yeah,that's right, that's what I did(cough).True actualy.
So out of a score of 3,I got 2.3 pretty good really, last year was 2.1 and the National average is 1.9,that means he comes back in 16 mths, last time it was 13mths.Last year I was in upheaval as my mother was very ill,I was going to see her every day, petty things like WoF paperwork totaly forgotten...so last years inspector was really good to me,he could of really slammed me on some stuff.
I like this new system,it's been going for about 3 yrs,it's the same inspectors, but they act more human,it's about us and them working it out,not the boss above waving the big stick...it's more like 'let's work it out together' $600 paid to LTNZ for the revue, and a day of no work - the real cost of doing WoFs.
