Do you still Wave at Passing Bikes?

I wave to all bikes except scooters and dudes dressed in black on harleys or similars, coz they're always way too cool to wave back.... Yeah right!!!

I don't wave to niggers either because I don't see why they should be allowd to own bikes....I don't wave to girls either because they should be at home cleaning up the mess.

If I ever see you on a bike remind me to give you a finger instead of ignoring a sports bike as I usualy do.

I normally wave or nod if my hands are too busy and usually get a response. Kids in kages get a kick out of a wave from someone on a bike - they don't realise its a grey haired old bugger not some koool dude

And like RDJ said, the helmet (and gear) is good for disguising your oldness/baldness/unkewlness. Although I ride the VifFerraRi, so I'm naturally kewl, very kewl.

I wave/nod/gesticulate to everyone (and say some interesting things inside my helemt to those who don't wave back).

When I first started riding I waved to everything - including large groups of patched riders! Hey, I was going the other way, it's not like they were going to turn around and chase me for WAVING, right! Now I still pretty much wave to everyone except idiots on bikes with ape hangers, I figure they would crash if they attempted to wave so I don't want to take the risk...

As for BMW and Gold Wing riders not waving back, I find that hard to believe - my husband and I both have BMWs and we always wave. I went for a ride yesterday and had a Gold Wing rider blip his indicator at me (too scared to take his hand off the bars obviously!), but the norm is a wave or a nod. It took me a while to master the nod, but I think I have it now!

I find a lot of sports bike riders don't wave - and it doesn't seem to matter what I am riding when I wave at them. I don't wave to scooters either, unless they wave first!

I always acknowlege drivers if they pull over to let me pass (bit of a pain on our club's economy run - no way of letting them know that you don't want to go faster than 90kph or you'll lose!) and I always give arseholes to those who don't. Haven't managed to kick a door in yet (short legs) but sorely want to at times. My better half has a great way of letting them know they are tossers - he pulls up alongside their rear door and opens it! Amazing how quickly they move out your way when that happens!

I have noticed that most of the waves/nods seem to be out on the open road. I myself usually restrict it to the open road.

I tend to wave on the open road and nod around town when my hands need to be on both bars more.

When I lived in Wellington I used to pull up at the lights and nod to other riders there and I heard one say to his mate one day "hey, it's a chick!" Yeah, this is 2005 mate, not 1905!

I wave when I'm riding pillion too, just in case the rider is busy or doesn't notice!

The other day, heading home along kahikatea flat rd, I see two bikes approaching.
I give them a cheery wave,but I realise something is not quite right.
Then I realise they are cops on two BMWs.

Ive noticed tho that its mainly cruiser riders that wave back (may be cuz Im on a cruiser?).... I dunno how much longer Ill bother waving at other riders.

yip and it was funny as to a cage that cut me off when i lived in auckland
thing was my mates saw an opp and one of then took his belt and gave me a welt f%$k i still remember the looks from all the cars hahahahha
