The docs and nurses are looking after her really well and got her does up on lots of pain relief & currently have her in the ICU at Middlemore hospital. Currently trying to get her breathing and pain under control with some internal bleeding.
As for the Marshalls and the Volunteer fire crew at the ride yesterday what a bunch of fan bloody tastic people. especially Bob & Ron from the Hunua Fire Service and Scott from MR Motorcycles F@#ken well done guys the damage would have been a lot worse without your speed and knowledge of how to help.
Thanks to all those of you that have called me with your best wishes and I am sure Buffy will appreciate your thoughts also. I will try and keep everyone up to date with her progress.

    TAKE CARE FOR NOW

Juh-HEEZ that sounds nasty! Wishing her a speedy recovery, sounds like she's got some good folk looking after her.

Not much fun for you either chichi. Good work with the guys veering riders well away from the scene. Hard to be lying on the deck with everyone still riding around. That must have been a pretty hard slam. Has she said how it happened? Any trouble with concussion as well?

BTW need to be aware that morphine can be a problem with suppressing breathing reflex.

Yes the marshalls and fire crew did an awesome job!
Basically she came up to the turn with a bit of speed and grabbed a bit too much front brake and the bike slid out from underneath her, from what I can tell, and she endoed herself and came down hard on her shoulder and back, most of the damage seems to have come from having her fire extinguisher in her camel back and landing very hard on it! No concussion. BLOODY great bruise on her shoulder, very proud of it actually. This is what caused the ribs to break!
Spirits are getting better and they are taking great care of her.
The morphine has made her a bit wasted but now they have the pain under relative control and now she is doin much better, still in HDU Middlemore tho. hopefully they will transfer her to a ward tomorrow. They expect her to be home with us by Xmas.
