Ah yeah, ow thats a nasty lesson.. No hard or sharp objects in bags..

I am surprised they will permit that.

Basically she came up to the turn with a bit of speed and grabbed a bit too much front brake and the bike slid out from underneath her, from what I can tell, and she endoed herself and came down hard on her shoulder and back, most of the damage seems to have come from having her fire extinguisher in her camel back and landing very hard on it! No concussion. BLOODY great bruise on her shoulder, very proud of it actually. This is what caused the ribs to break!
Spirits are getting better and they are taking great care of her.
The morphine has made her a bit wasted but now they have the pain under relative control and now she is doin much better, still in HDU Middlemore tho. hopefully they will transfer her to a ward tomorrow. They expect her to be home with us by Xmas.
Great to hear that her spirits are up! Might have to head on up and see how she's going! Wow home by Christmas, yeha! Sounds much more positive! You rock Chichi!

Oh crap..... So sorry to read this, heal fast Buffy and if there's anything we can help with, don't hesitate to ask. I have first hand experience of the "KB family" swinging into action to support one of their own. There are some awesome people on here reading this who really do care...

    All the best

Reading that I was just saying ooooooh to myself. That would have been NASTY! Get well soon.

Just drill some holes in your front guard and mount the extinguisher there!!

    Buffy's accident

My wife looks after Buff's awesome wee chap Ezra. Justin give Buff's hugs and kisses from me and Angie, heal fast chick.
If we can help with looking after Ezra, dont hesitate to ask mate, he loves hanging with my kids.
We aren't going anywhere until the new year, so if it will help he can come over any time you need to get away and be with Buffy.
Thoughts are with you guys take care and hang tough.

Bummer, Ive done similar, no fire extingusher, although it did pop the bung of my camelback, resulting in the next steep down hill all the powerade ran up my neck and into my helmet, sticky as. all the best inher recovery.

I was just ahead of Buffy when she came to grief and went back straight away and stayed with her til she got the fancy ride outa there. Gotta say that chick is made of tough stuff, one of the guys thought she may just have severe bruising because of the way she coped...! Yeah man, no fire extinguishers on your backs people, some of us had that discussion before we took off but I guess you don't think it will happen to you. Huge applause for the rescuers/marshalls/medics and ride organizers for having such fantastic help at the ready. Also handy that we were so close to the paddock for easy chopper landing...

I've just done similar (off an 80 too), pulled the bone a bit but not right off. Did it first thing in morning, rode for another 4.5 hrs, the adrenalin stopped the pain i think???? The night onwards it started hurting.

What a tough chick Buffstar is with those horrible injuries - pain pain pain!!!
    Hope ya heal fast

I think the saying "It dont hurt till the bone shows" applys to the girls only. For guys its "it dont look sore, but you can see its a little swollen."
