Any KB car mechanics want a quick cash/beer job?

I've got most of the way through doing a brake rotor and pad swap on my Volvo but it's turning out to be a bit of a bitch. The guy I would normally have called up to give me a hand is currently a cripple and so can't help me out.

I'm on the North Shore. It'll probably take a half hour to an hour - I just need a hand sorting out the calipers and then bleeding the brakes.

$50 or two boxes of beer to the person who actually knows what they're doing, that can come around and help me out either this evening or tomorrow. The car is not driveable.

Yeh, I drive it sometimes too. It's a 1997 S40 1.8L 4spd auto, full leather interior, 134k on the clock, mags, good stereo etc etc... it's a nice alternative to the bike, and it's a shitload better than the only other car I ever owned which was a 1986 Toyota Corolla 1.6L.

Got the tools here. If you have a specialist caliper piston reset (rewind) tool then bring that... thats the bit i'm stuck at.

I went out and bought a 'universal' tool but it's not a great fit.

Does the piston wind in or just push in? Give me a txt on 0210389383 if you're still stuck, on the shore also. Cheers.

The piston was a wind in type. The tool worked fine on the the left caliper, the right one took some persuading with hammer - all WOF'd and rego'd now. They failed me in the morning for 'leaking calipers' - remember to clean up your work once you're done, I left brake fluid all over the caliper without realising and ended up wasting a half the day trying to get a person to help me bleed the brakes only to find that I just needed to clean the calipers!
