They used to put sand down on roads in my area when I was a teenager learning to ride - we thought it was fun and used to get real loose on the stuff....um...I guess kids these days have a different idea of fun eh.

They also do not sweep the road after laying down new tarmac.

I've noticed this around Miramar and over Mt Victoria. They lay the gravel
and then after a few days, remove the road work sighs and speed restrictions
    and then just leave.

Loose gravel is still all over the place.

In actual fact its probably not WCC thats the problem, but the contractors
they hire to do the work.

Sorry to hear about your crash.

Make sure you follow this up with WCC they are getting way to slack
    in maintaining the roads.

They will only change their attitude if they have to start paying out for
    hurt riders and damaged bikes.
