    Got my Full Licence...now what?

Now that I'm fully licenced I'm loking to upgrade from my XV250 to something bigger, better and more beautiful.

    Here are the main contenders:

    -Yamaha XV650 V-Star Classic
    -Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Classic
    -Honda Shadow VT750C

I'd be interested to know what people think of these bikes in terms of build, handling value for money etc.

    Cheers,

    -SW

    Well two questions:

    1. How many have you test ridden and liked at the end??

    and

    2. What are the insurance premiums quotes you've got??

I've only ever ridden a 98 or 99 model VN800 any distance out of those (Wgtn to Taupo, had a R1100S on the way back).

Crusiers are not my cup of tea, but to was very 'nice'. Don't think I change gear much - if at all - between Waikanae and Taihape.
Not too bad on my back and not as much wind buffeting as I expected.

Well built (all Kwakas are, eh?). Nice to ride. Reliability? No idea...

Stay with the Yamaha mate... its looks so much better. looks a nicer low slung crusier of the 3 you have pictured.
I have been on the back of a older Vulcan 800 feels ok being the pillion.. mind you it had the sissy bar to lean back againest.

Hey if you are selling the virago 250... do you want to take off the sissy bar off yours and throw it my way....lol .....you know it would look really cool on the back of my bike...

Congratulations on getting your full license.

    Thanks Crashe,

yeah it's great to get to this point and to be riding safely and confidently.

I am pretty much in favour of the Yamaha, but I'll have to do some reading of reviews then go out and ride the bikes once I'm not so busy.

Think I'll need to sell the bike as is tho, so the sissy bar'll have to stay on. Sorry
