If you can get trikes registered then why not? Hopefully he had a relationship with a certifier during build up...

Or you find a damaged Yamaha something of 80s/early 90s vintage with rego on hold, use the plates and take it to a testing station...if you're good at using an engraving tool you'd be fine transferring the frame number.
