I've said my piece for Flyin.
This is for Jimbo. Bro, so sorry that you had to experience that. As said by someone else relax and take some time for yourself. I can't imagine what that must have felt like, stay strong.

The car driver was in shock. White as snow and sweating profusely. No doubt he'll be experiencing a fair bit of post traumatic stress.Originally Posted by soundbeltfarm

As a more mature rider I think it is important that we speak up when the younger fellas are pushing too hard. I only wish I had said something now!
I am sure that was said to him by one of the KB's with us but as someone else said how many of us listened at that age. The old saying you can't put a old head on young shoulders is so true and we only realise it if we make it to an age to realise it!!!! This sort of thing will always happen until the youth listen to there elders.
I have read this hole thread (which has taken about an hour on my connection) and think that people have come up with some great ideas.
Jimbo's one of a ride I am up for.
I think that all our details held with a select few is a great idea.
I would like to see (with the parents permission) a convoy at the funeral.
RIP Sam/Flyin I truley hope you have gone to ride in the sky. I only knew you for a few hours and wish I had got you to turn back when I wanted to.
My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends

I'm up for flowers one night this week also.
Don't mean to sound ghoulesh - but a left hand corner travelling back to Gladstone, by the watertowers road (hillclimb Rd) - the only one I can think of is where those 2 motorcyclists were killed 2 years ago on ANZAC day when a Canadian women drove onto the wrong side of the road. I hope it wasn't the same corner!!!
We were out there today (over the watertowers Road ) and I must say it was a beautiful warm sunny day (in that part of the Wairarapa) such a shame it had to end like that.
Don't know what to say. Have been worried for a few of our new-to-bike riders. I too fell it was only amount of time before we lost a KB'er to a bike accident. Suppose, in light of my own riding, may be it is something I need to take on board as well. So young. What a waste. Sorry never got to meet you Flyn. May your memory live on.
PS: have posted in the past that a Memorial/Honors Thread should be made so that these bikers will no be forgotten. How about Admins? Let their memories be honored![]()

DON'T RIDE LIKE YA STOLE IT, RIDE TO SURVIVE.
The fact that this thread has grown to 8 pages in only a few hours, with most posts all offering sympathy/condolences to Sam and his family is amazing. Just shows what this KB community is all about!
Condolences to Sam's family and friends. I never had the chance to meet you but you sound like a very very nice person. It is very sad that this had to happen.
To all those other learners / newbie riders out there, don't ride beyond your skills and take it easy out there.
Your memories will live on.
