    Unhappy SAD

Amaizing bunch a people on this site!!!! http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/ne...te=1&p=227585#

Sam is a great guy really going places..... wasn't expecting him to go so soon.
I tell ya he was pretty dam confident alright. Went for a ride with him Monday or tuesday??? over moonshine road BOY DID HE TAKE IT LIKE A MAN, I though he was fucken crazy; ha ha. I was happy to get to know the road a little better first. Like most things you have to pratice to get it right & it natural to fuuck up every now & then. Enough with the macho bullshit or what eva it is .

I will admit he could pop a mad wheely and pulled off a pretty hot stoppy after 4 months a riding, I though that was impresive!

Always lived life to the fullest!!!!!! Good on ya Sam. HAte that your gone.

I will let the family know.

    Shit!
    This sucks big time!
As others have said, with the numbers on the board now, it was probably only a matter of time, even though we hoped it would never happen......
Having been involved in a similar situation with close friends losing a son, the downstream effects are devastating to all involved. Sam is out of it all now,my condolences to his family and friends, they will be hurting big time. My sympathies also, to all those involved in this sorry event - the car driver, Jimbo and the others - there's nothing you can do about it now, so just be easy on yourselves for a while. There is nothing you could have done that would have changed things and after it happened, as long as you did what you could......

    A sad day.

-?L.v??Don't mean to sound ghoulesh - but a left hand corner travelling back to Gladstone, by the watertowers road (hillclimb Rd) - the only one I can think of is where those 2 motorcyclists were killed 2 years ago on ANZAC day when a Canadian women drove onto the wrong side of the road. I hope it wasn't the same corner!!!

We were out there today (over the watertowers Road ) and I must say it was a beautiful warm sunny day (in that part of the Wairarapa) such a shame it had to end like that.[/QUOTE]

It was that very same corner.
The lady that turned up at the scene was a nurse and was with him till he went in the abulence told us about that very accident. she lives not far from the school and was very good in taking us to her house afterwards and making us tea and coffee.

Oh man. I can't believe it. What a decent guy eh. I've been on two or three rides with Sam aswell - it's just so sad, and strange, to get your head around the whole thing. There's not much I can say really.

Of course, I'd definitely be keen to be involved in whatever we end up doing for him.
Easy_ride? - perhaps, if the time's right, you could check out how his parents would feel about us turning up? Only if it seems appropriate though. It might not really be what they want, I dunno?

Some very eloquent words posted here, I couldn't say anything better than those before me.

    RIP Sam

Jimbo/Deano/Gary et al - hope you guys are okay too. Serious crashes are not fun to be around.

    RIP Sam.

I was forunate not to be on this ride and he was so disapointed on Friday night at the pub when I told him I wasn't going to be there.

This post I can't get out of my head:

this saddens me as these guys and girls have heaps of useful knowledge and insights into the wold of riding and we will all be missing out on their input into the forums.

I've noticed alot of people have been getting FAR to personal on this site and have been disussing/raving about anything that they object to/feel strongly about, this is, to an extent, acceptable however when users who have never met start having a go at people about family (wife, kids, even work) I feel this is abuse of the site and completely unnaceptable!!

A fair few of these Internet - bullies are young'ns (yeah im only young myself but hey), there constant smart replies are getting
WAAAY to carried away, deep and personal.
sure you can write "PT" at the end of a nasty comment, you still wrote in on the internet for the world to see!!! and the guys you are giving shite too are generally far more experianced riders/people so have heaps we can learn from them!!

I get so F***kd off with these kids, some of whome dont even have their licenses, who think they are cool because they've typed 1000 posts or some crap!! I ended up giving out bad rep yesterday for endless harsh comments to a non-deserving user!!
notice a fair few of the wiser comments come from users who have been around here for aaaaages but only have a few (well used ) posts to their title!?!

AAAnyways all i'mtrying to say is that if we all wanna keep using this site for what is designed, and doing really well at, we need to have some RESPECT so as we do not end up like one of our wise users fears "imploding"

-for the site: dont post bulls***t spam all day because your gettin paid for it, think about what someone else will get from reading your post.

-for the users: they are all real people with real lives and their bikes are probly waaay cooler than yours! you may meet them one day so keep that in mind before you make a nasty comment!

-for our elders: (not tryin to sound rude) but theres heaps a experience floting around here, picking it and being nice to them is a good way to learn something usefull!

-for ourselves: this site is a tool, to meet people and oraganise rides, and to share knowledge and stories among freinds, it must be used, not abused, and ballance must be maintained between reality and the little box your staring at right now!! your bikes not here m8! go find it and love it

cheers for reading this, if you bothered, I'd like to see this site live long and prosper so further generations of bikers can learn from the bollocks i've typed!!

Flyin was a great guy. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, although, now I wished I did. He struck me as a great guy who was often open to opinions and always new when to have some fun.

He will sorely be missed by his family and friends and by these forums

Damn. Thats awful news, I never met him, but it sounds like he was a great guy who was well liked. Sincere condolences to all who knew him and everyone involved with the accident.

Very good idea. As Riffer said, with 2000 plus members this was on the cards. And still is.

To Paul and Dafe, don't be too hard on yourselves. For a starter, was speed even involved? (haven't read the whole thread). We all know the potential consequences of speeding- we see it every night on TV- yet most of us still choose to do it from time to time. Human nature being what it is, we all have to learn our own lessons. Even advice from someone we respect isn't going to stop us from doing something we love.

I'm not usually one for offering condolences to people I don't haven't met. But this site makes you feel that you do know other members.
    A sad loss.

I never knew you Flyin, but you were obviously very well loved and respected, may you RIP. My thoughts are with your family and friends, especially those that stayed with him at such a tragic time.
