I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd really like to do something to honour Sam's memory and do something for his folks and family as well.
Any bright ideas?

'Scuse me. Do you f**k as well as you dance?
I would definitely attend a bike convoy to/from the funeral. However, I'm wondering if the family would prefer a more private affair?
A memorial ride to Gladstone as suggested on the other thread is a nice idea too. I'm all ears.
We need to be sensitive to his family's needs and wishes.
Does anybody know his folks at all?

Someone has mentioned this already, but I would appreciate a sort of 'Memorial Hall' created on this site for such happenings. A place where sincere thoughts & farewells can be expressed by KB members, remembrance pics uploaded, etc, dedicated to individuals such as the late Sam.
I reckon it'd be real neat to get everyone into one place, kinda hard tho, guess it depends on the familys wishes for the funeral..this sucks hard
You are only coming through in waves. Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying...
Great idea. Maybe we could have a ride in his honour and put some money in for family or something. Possibly b/c we don't know how his family felt about riding giving them their privacy may be best.Originally Posted by Zed

" Life is not a rehearsal, it's as happy or miserable as you want to make it"
its a bloody shame.
just looking at his profile to learn a bit about him.
he was on here this morning before this very sad event.
I like the earlier suggestion of multiple group rides around the country, departing at the same time, afterall KBer is a nationwide club. I think this should be a standard response from KBer if we are ever unfortunate enough to experience the loss of a fellow rider again.
We definately need to find out from the family whether it would be OK for us to attend the funeral. If not, We should take a ride in respect regardless.
I noticed that before...that and he was rather youngOriginally Posted by soundbeltfarm
I think having a bike convoy probably isn't the best idea without talking to the family...you're quite right.
And having some sort of memorial list or special symbol for "passed on" members seems like a good idea too.
