Very sad news. Condolences to family and friends.
its very sad for me to hear this, specially as of recently I have been reflecting hard on my crash.
sorry that I'll never get to meet a great guy and a great rider.
been reading his thread... http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ighlight=flyin
I want to highlight that he has on his profile as a member of http://www.club-k.co.nz/index.htm which is run by

as they might want to organise something as well, so it'll make sense for KB and them to link up.
Hey I was just thinking, maybe a donation would be more helpful than flowers. It's just that people get sent lots of flowers and it doesn't mean as much - if you get what I mean. If we donated to the family then they could do what they like eg. Buy a nice photo frame to get a picture of Sam put in or the like.
My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.
Great idea.Originally Posted by Celtic_Sea_lily
I'd definitely want to be involved in whatever gets organised for Sam. Once we've got the word from his parents can someone make sure they post in here what the plan is?
What a terrible loss of a young life, I agree with Zed we need to have a hall of rememberance for kb members to acknowlege their lives and reflect upon how easily life can be snuffed out. My thoughts are especially for this young mans parents, they will always wonder "what if" . Rest in peace Sam
Okay: a few of us seem interested in going to lay flowers. So, although initially I personally felt like going straight away, in the interests of more of us making it there in a group, what about the weekend? After WMC closes on Saturday, or on the Sunday?
We could just make it a quiet ride over there, pay our respects and then, I don't know, go back to one of our houses and crack open a few beers, or maybe even go over one of his favourite routes. Elaine?
I'm happy to go with whatever the consensus is.
This news greatly saddens me, met Flyin on a ride several weeks ago, he seemed like a good keen man.
Couldn't find any other posts as to what happened, so what happened?
RIP.
Im not sure what to say really, got a lump in my throat about this whole thing.
I dont know much about the incident or where and when but I would imagine a funeral will be close.
Funerals are strange things sometimes from the perspective that sometimes people go who may not be particulary welcome.
You do not have invitation lists at funerals, you go as a individual mark of respect.
I believe strongly that if you want to go and turn up on bikes, you go, If you get a couple of strange looks so be it, Sam would be smiling on you and thats all that matters. I think the family would appreciate a turn out from his biker friends, do it respectfully, keep your distance and go as a mark of respect to Sam.
Sam would want this I am positive.
I think also Post when it is on, I might come down, I think its important .
Ive run out of fucks to give
I think the convey is a good idea or even for those that knew him personally to write out a few lines and pass it on to his family
To every man upon this earth
Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods
I would like to come from the South tooOriginally Posted by Quasievil

Yeah, got a big lump in my throat myself. Agree that need to respect the families wishes, I reckon it would be a good idea to make contact with the family or undertaker to gauge interest from his family in turning up to the funeral.Originally Posted by Quasievil
Checked the Dominion Post this morning, no notice for Sam - maybe tomorrow.
I'm with that. Either day would be good for me.Originally Posted by jazbug5
Another idea I had was placing a notice in the paper on behalf of Kiwibikers.

I think a notice is also a good idea. Hitcher?
