Why are cagers so 'anti bike'?

Most of the cagers I've met keep saying "bikes are gay" or "my piece of shit Skyline is more fun than any bike". Is it just that they don't have the balls to ride a bike, or are they just ignorant of the facts? Maybe they don't want to admit that their $30,000 WRX can't keep up with a $3,000 NSR250?

I ca'nt say i've ever had anyone say that to me. What age group are you referring to?

15 year olds seem to think their mazda 323's can be turned into the fastest thing with wheels......If it is a teen then i'd just laugh at their ignorance. If it's not, laugh harder.

I think we've all met the odd "anti-bike" car driver on the road from time to time. Thankfully I would say 95% of the people I meet on the road are tolerant enough. I guess it depends on whether your glass is half full or half empty. If you let that 5% percent or more upset you then dont ride.

I dont give a fuck what any car drivers think about bikes. If they dont ride a bike then their opinion about them means nothing to me.

But i have to admit I hate bike riders that think no car can keep up with them...

my prelude aint nothing special but guaranteed 120-180kph it would kill any <100hp bike, its just real slack off the lights, but thats all power to weight ratio.

A $30,000 WRX would piss all over a $3000 NSR250 in anything but initial acceleration unless it's being driven by a total retard

My mate had a JDM version 5 WRX which was a lot quicker than the later model WRXs and that thing was even with an RGV250

Faster in what way? I'm pretty sure a $30,000 WRX would smoke a $3000 NSR250.

It's not them. It's you. I never have any problems with cagers.

I agree that not all car drivers are anti-bike but I think that maybe some give that impression because they just don't take bikes into consideration. I sometimes think thier lack of knowledge about bikes and their inexperience of them leads to them some time cutting us off etc.

At the end of the day we all have to use the roads together so we have all have to live with the foibles or other road users.

Ermmmm..I could be tempted to maintain a healthy scepticism about that claim young man...

But apart from that, I have met very few cagers of the ilk mentioned by the OP. The usual stuff I get is "Oh They're SOOOOO dangerous!"

It depends, and I'd have to view your Prelude with a huge skepticism (sorry).
What is your hp figures, and are you still on FWD system? Also, what tyres you have?
On FWD with less than drag slicks, you'll either run into weight problem (slow, not enough power), or grip problem (too much power).
Either case would see modern CBR600RR (or even F4 model) blasts through easily.

With AWD and RWD, you can run them much higher power before you run into grip problem.
I happen to know a few supras, GTRs and WRX that can match or spit on the same 600 bike. Or even from 0.

As a comparison, decently launched 600+ sportbikes are easily within the 10-12 seconds on the 1/4 strip.
Stock standard twin turbo Supras (280 - 320 hp) with good launch gets to upper 12 - mid 13 seconds.
Stock Prelude Vtir (4th gen) are in the 15-16 seconds. Stage 1 modified ones are in the upper 14s.

Stock CBR600RR with medium class rider easily do pukekohe track at around 1.10 - 1.20 range
Stage 1 Prelude vtir (4th gen) with same-class driver does Pukekohe at around 1.20 - 1.30 range

Those are my tested numbers so far.

Would be interesting to see more, but let's keep the professional racers off the topic.
