    yup x 2.

and on another subject - Igor - you're right. some of you guys are starting to sound like eternal victims - just get out there, ride, and put up with the shit. i'd rather run the highway patrol gauntlet than the asian/4x4/boy racer/farmer joe/school mum maze any day.

if you don't like it, either move to central otago and ride with scumdog, or buy a friggin lexus.

i rode to work this morning averaging well over the speed limit. overtook 2 patrol cars - 1 highway, 1 GDB. (wasn't riding fast then though - 105k - but came up behind them pretty quick, then gradually accelerated away to warp factor again). they obviously didn't give a rats. this is on SH1 in the waikato too.

Ummm,When I first posted the warning about the Waikato cops,I
was just passing on something I heard on the radio.
Riding an old XS 650 I seldom go much over 110-120 anyway so I don,t really mind geting pulled over if it,s just for a check.
But fella,s some of you guys are paranoid.
That guy in front of you,is not following you, that plane is not the FBI,Gezzzz, lighten up.

LOL - it is amazing how a cautionary thread can turn in to shitfight.

Thanks for the warning Jack - as to everyone else - for fuck sake, you ride a bike, you speed, you risk getting pulled over - live with it.  The cops are doing a job (marginal comment I know) - however you KNOW they are there, they are NOT going away, whinging about them with do NOTHING - don't complain about getting speeding tickets if you get caught speeding - it isn't the cops fault - it is yours.

I agree with Marty - you aren't the victim, you are the offender!

I agree with wkid one and co. don't be paranoid, just get out there and ride, - if your that worried beat them at there oen game - ride at or below the speed limit!!!!!
BTW the limit ain't 110, it's 100 - so all those moaning about the 112km ticket and saying "I was only 2 over" you were actually 12 o.k. -

    Good call.

Bewary of hauling up too fast behind the HP boys. Those cars have rear facing radar too and if he's an alert little piggy, you may get caught out.

Their radars don't currently work on "same lane" traffic.

I beg to differ Slim, the Stalkers are selectable, same lane or opposing lane. They show fastest target and strongest target as well.

I'm with Lou, don't get too smart, these Stalkers are a little more sophisticated then the old one direction-one lane type radars, they even speak to you as in "Opposite lane, approaching" - if that is you speeding towards the cop in the opposite lane your ass is toast

I have noticed lately that they are using the rear facing more and more.  To the point where you get no register on the detector from the front of the vehicle at all

no lou - slim is right. waikato hp cars only have opposite and stationary mode ('dual') stalkers. the STU cars have the talking DSR same lane faster and slower model, but highway are waiting for the next upgrade, so make do with the original radars they came out with in 2000.

don't be caught out though by the VY S pack commodores, which are currently being handed out to the rural stu units - they have the DSR in them. easy to spot over the highway VX models though.
