Attend the funeral on our bikes (having checked with family 1st).
Ride to the accident site, on the weekend, and place flowers.
Collect a donation and give it to the family to what they want with.
Send flowers to the family (note: they will be sent a lot of flowers).
Put a notice in the Dom Post on behalf of Kiwi Biker.

Hi All,
I can say, with total certainty that John (Sam's brother) is with his Mum and Dad at their house in Tawa. Their family is very close and nothing will be posted here that is misleading for anyone. Rest assurred, so long as you are careful and cautious, you will not offend anyone. I will keep in contact with what is being suggested and am seeing Sam's family daily, will make sure that everything is okay. Please be creative, Sam will Love it.
Guard of Honour, was Jane's (Sam's Mum) suggestion, and I am all for it. As well as a procession following the hearse, and if we can, remove helmets at the cemetary. Sam wasn't one for ridin without a helmet on, except across the petrol station forecourt, however, I know that there is great feeling and display of the face, with head bowed, will be very moving for all.
If we can get a idea of numbers attending the service on bikes, would be good for people who are organising to create a picture in their minds. Also, I will be at Caltex and riding to the Church, so will be able to co-ordinate from there as well.
I understand that John is probably watching this forum and hope to speak with him later myself. Please be open with your ideas, most of them are very touching and all of them appreciated.
Thanks,
Annatia
maybe we should start a thread just for those who are attending, so we can count numbers properly and as to not get mixed up with all the current threads.
i for one will do my best to be there, im hoping i can leave early friday moring or thursday night.
.....what can i say.....
Ok you lot this is how I picture it.
We meet in various places round town and head to the gas station Hitcher suggests.
All wear clear visors on lids.
In line abreast formation (2 side by side) we ride to the church -rideby then park up as MD suggested.
Black armbands worn on left forearm
At end of funeral we form an honour guard --side by side either side from entrance of church to the hearse. Heads bowed -helmets in front.
Follow behind the hearse and family as a hounour guard.
Stop at gates to cemetry.
Head off to meeeting place suggested.
How does that sound you lot

im the moderator of Events and I will clean out anything other than a actual registrations of attendance.
This way Sams family can easily understand numbers as can anyone else with an interest.

Frosty, what's your flight number? Do you know what time you will be landing yet? I have some work to do in the morning from home, but I only live just down the road from WMC so can pick you up in the car in the morning and bring you into town. Let me know what you want to do....Originally Posted by XJ/FROSTY

DB is the new Porridge. Cause most of the mods must be sucking his cock ..... Or his giving them some oral help? How else can you explain it?
Guys
I've arranged a morning off (bumped a big client but they are cool with it) and will fit in with anything else. I'm in auckland now and next 2 days and I will catch up with Frosty but will have bugger all time to get organised thur night friday morn so can some kind soul pm me with the final solution.
Cheers
ps - reading the notice in the paper makes me wonder if Sams folks would rather see us thursday evening?
pps - I'm on lousy dial up from the hotel so won't be checking this regularly OK
I hope noone will take it as disrepectful, but I will have to wear my normal riding gear (Jeans, t-shirt, cordura jacket, boots/gloves). Can't fit a suit under my gear (IF I had a suit yo fit...)
got friday off work, that link doesnt work
Mate, if you're riding your bike you wear what you would normally wear when riding it. Sam would probably have it no other way. No point in putting yourself at further risk in a mass ride environmentOriginally Posted by StoneChucker
