    Free rider training in South Auckland this Wednesday

    Hi everyone,

    South Auckland Street Skills meet up at the Papakura Autobahn BP on Wednesdays at 7pm for some free rider training. The tutors are great and as a student I feel I've already made some huge increases in skill level just by listening to what they say and practicing in the car park where we hang-out.

    There've been three courses so far were we've focused on
    * emergency braking
    * low speed cornering
    * high-speed evasion (of obstacles not coppers)

    Howard and Jayne take the course and they've always got some recommendations to make your riding better.

    So, if you want to get better at riding, and you're free to make it to South Auckland this Wednesday then come on over.

    Here's the link to the SASS thread.

    I think they just need one central Auckland event. instead of one north one south, cause some people are too far from both. so why not middle? bring the forces together

    I think if you drew a circle arund the two you'd find a much bigger chunk of the population within reach than a single option in the Auckland CBD. The next issue would be an actual venue in the CBD.

    I don't think personally training in a congested busy environment makes for a good training environment.

    I have helped out at the North one NASS, and it works really well.

    But it was terrible for me trying to get to the start at Westgate from South thru the traffic. We all know what thats like.
    Who would want to come over the Harbour Bridge to do a Central one Can't see it happening. And why move something that is working so well.

    We have started SASS on the same timetable and realise that it is going to be some time before it builds up to NASS. NASS has been going for years now so it's gonna be a while before we build it up to the point that bikers just come along for a bit of practise, and alot of talking and catching up with mates.

    Just like NASS, we have a little ride (thru the back of Clevedon), to the carpark in Manukau, and then we set up an exercise or two. When we get bored with that we head off for a coffee

    Should almost certainly possibly hopefully be at the next one.

    And as I'm already 30mins south of Manukau and CBD one is pointless - we don't all live in Dorkland YET!!!!

    lol but its middleground? i mean south one is far to anyone who dosnt live way south, and north for anyone who isnt over the shore.

    i thought CBD one would be a good middleground. ohwell. i'll continue to conquer that land myself then

    The CBD doesn't have any good roads or 100km/h areas (apart from the motorway). South Auckland has great roads and it's quieter than the CBD in terms of other traffic.

    Bite the bullet and come along Cayman
