Me & my WR250R are on holiday next week in the Coromandel, any suggestions on where to ride? I will be staying at Whangapoua.

Ive asked the same question and someone was spose to send me maps but never received them, i stay at Matarangi and theres a lil kids motox track by the boat ramp which is some fun haha, but still would like to know where we can ride
We did find a track down Waitaia rd in Kuaotunu its a 4x4 access road that goes down to a beach, still some fun and also can find some tracks off that track

I'd also be interested as I have a place at Cooks Beach and would love to explore a bit of the bush. Nothing too serious as only a beginner on a CRF250R.
Go and see Steve who owns the Whangapoua store - he's none other than KB's Fergie! He has a trail bike and will put you straight. Anywhere north of Colville up to Fletcher's Bay is nice riding with all the Pohutukawa out, but not very taxing. Steve can probably suggest some good trails.
nope. we just had some dicks on quads, trail bikes ect rip up the reserve and our property!
(i dont take my bike down because its to much hassle)
Hi Andy
call in and say hi, will give you a few ideas, lots of gravel around here.!
A universal dream of greatness is that
We push ourselves to the limit
Yet still be brilliant when the chips are down.

Hey Fergie, it was great to meet & ride with you.
Day 1. I started at Te Rerenga end of the Castle Rock Rd & went thru south to the 309 Rd. It is a pine logging area (public easement) and the road winds past Castle Rock. Turn left onto the 309 Rd which is more hard surface than gravel. Turn left onto Old Wade Rd, thru the forestry area again, onto Wade Rd, Opitonui Rd & finish where you started - a 60 km gravel loop. Depending on logging ops some of the gates in the middle might be shut but you can get around them. But I was a bit apprehensive, am I on the right track, will the gate be open or shut, will I be stopped & told to f**k off? The couple of forestry vehicles I saw were friendly & warned me to keep my speed down because of logging trucks using the road. And everyone seemed to be taking Xmas trees home!
Day 2. Did a 200 km scenic loop to Fletcher Bay at the top of Coro. The police were busy using a plane to spot cannabis plants & then a helicopter would spray them with blue dye & coconut oil from the apparatus called the Dalek.
Day 3. Fergie was going to show me some local tracks around Whangapoua then he upped the ante saying we going down to Waihi (2 hour drive) to ride with Cave Weta.
