    KDX damaged bore

Got a KDX200 1998 with a damaged cylinder bore (run without pre-mix). Looks like I can get it bored and replated, or Wiseco do a sleave kit for it.
Never done either before, anyone know where to take it for either option and whats involved??

Guessing Spectrum would be the guys to ask. They may be able to do it themselves and if not I'm sure they would recommend someone who could.

Had an 95 KDX that had the bottom end bearing let go and destroy the coating, Had the bike shop price out the options
    from memory 4-500 for sleaving
    600odd for recoating in OZ
    900 for a new one.....

i went new as the shop went halfs in parts and no labour costs,
the joys of selling trade in bikes.......

Any Decent bike shop should be able to point you in the right direction.

Diesel Pig just had his Husky cylinder done by them, think it was about $500 including a repair

I had a n 88 kx125 rebored and a sleeve fitted.Cost around 600 including piston. Apparently a cast iron sleeve can be nikasiled as well.

I got the work done at Farm and Trail Engineering in Te Awamutu

NZ Cylinders do a great job, have used them on a few different bikes with no problems, they are around $500, it is a much better option than a sleeve,

There is 2 second hand ones. Otherwise if you're just going to flick it, call boss engineering in Wanganui and they are pretty cheap to sleeve it.
