Yup, the forecast for tomorrow is shite but whatever happens with respect to people going along and paying respects whether that be tomorrow or next week or even in a months time, can I make a suggestion?
The area where the accident happened is a reasonably tricky peice of road so if you do have the chance to go along in a group, consider the idea of having one person stay about 300-500m in either direction advising traffic to slow down. The last thing we need is for a cager or a rider being surprised by a few motorcyclists standing on the side of the road and they end up doing something 'dupid.
Just a thought.
Safe ridng whatever you decide to do
Ciao
Weather forcast does not sound good guys, and judging by what I'm seeing out my window (the swirling clouds and evil presence like in Ghostbusters), tomorrow is going to be unpleasant. Honestly, if it's pouring/raining/misty I probably won't come. But I will be thinking of you all if you brave the elements.
Might ring the servo in Featherston and ask what it looks like before I decide.
you'd have that on speed dial wouldn't ya????Originally Posted by StoneChucker

what's the servo's number?

If the weather is pants tomorrow I will not be going. I am going over that way on Monday with Jimbo anyway so will see how things go then.
Take care any of you that do brave it.

With the weather forcast as it is, and the fact that its Mothers Day, should we postpone the Memorial ride to, say, the 29th (being 4 weeks from Sam Accident)?????????any other ideas??
Experience......something you get just after you needed it
Ok - SC, is it ok if you flick me a text if we do end up going? Please!I'll be at church in the morn and won't be able to check the site. Cheers mate! Otherwise in 4 weeks sounds good.

Rain Hail or Shine, however, I am only a pillion.
Hey Guys, Unfortunately, the bike that we have borrowed for the weekend came with rules gallore, being that Ben can't take a pillion over the Taka hill (among other things)... The SP1 is not made of anything unusual but her owner loves her dearly and has fears around pillions and paintwork. Therefore, I would like to ask if.......
If..... anyone goes for a ride over the hill today, and has a pillion seat that they don't mind me occupying, I'm keen, rain hail or shine, so long as you are. I'm in Paraparaumu at the moment, my cell is 021 268 7396, please contact me...
Please note, this is only if YOU decide to go anyway - I don't want anyone deciding to go for this reason either.... I have a cage I can take over if necessary.
P.S. Please don't forget to remember your Mum's
Foggy in Newtown so I dunno what the weather is like elsewhere.
My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.
I have to work today..
The world will look up and shout "Save Us!", and I'll whisper "no"
Weather is looking OK here (Newlands) but 55kph winds and hail this afternoon. This is the weather for Masterton as well.
For me (full of cold) this is looking like a car trip. I would much prefer to do a memorial ride on a bike... makes more sense (if thats the right word).
EDIT: It is now raining. And the wind is southerly.
Any ideas...
I have a van which could fit several people sitting on the floor and back seat.
Or are we postponing this?
