I've buried two rats and a bird this week. Plus a mouse that disappeared completely, presumably that was too tasty a tidbit to waste on the humans.

never have understoof why the pet food manufacturers don't bring out rat mouse lizard insect and wildbird flavours.

Ours' will happily scoff a mouse, guts, fur and all but often turns up his nose at mince that looks and smells fine to me. What's that about?!

You should let the new people in the house two doors down know that you are looking after the cat, if you don't have the old owners details.

The old owners are most likely to go back to their old house to look for their cat.

The new owners are likely to have the old owner details anyway.

It's hard to find someone's address these days with confidentiality laws....but a member of the family can break the rules and find out their new address on a data bass....when he goes back to work. It's a small town, but I don't know anyone who knows them.I'll go up to the old house today, looks like all their visitors over Xmas have left.

I'm puzzled with the food thing,we know her and she used to follow my daughter home just a few doors up,stay the night and eat porridge.Home Brand must be real crap.

Real loyal, especially if there is a house and a fridge involved

My moon must be in Leo,it's all about cats at the moment.Sad news from a daughter, her cat was run over last night. It was a tiny kitten I found in my back yard a couple of years ago...at least she had a good short life.

This afternoon some fat grey cat turns up on the back porch,I said g'day to him and he rolls on his back like he's an old mate of mine.So I put Whitney out the door to sort him out.Half an hour later she jumps in the lounge window onto my computer desk....I look up and he's on the windowsill ready to come in too! I think the word has gone out in the cat world.

I checked the people in her old house, they know nothing of the previous tenants.I put the food she won't eat outside...a stray came past, took a couple of bites, then walked off leaving it there.Looks like you have to pay for quality.

Good she found someone willing to sort her a meal, some attention etc.... our little SPCA cat, who is a great little cat, has up and gone walkabout. Wife is getting stressed. Its not like this cat to go far from home and us, and without food for over a day.. Oh well, cats huh, she'll probly be back soon, fingers crossed.

All I can hope us that your visitor cat hasnt got owners like my wife, chewing her fingers off with worry. Sounds like probly not though.

Many years ago our cat went missing for over a week. Turned up outside the bedroom ranch sliders at 4:00am one morning in the middle of a rainstorm with the loudest YOWWL I've ever heard. Walked in, slept for 16 hours solid and got up good as gold. 10+ years later still going strong.

We had a cat that could get lost 200 metres from home...we could hear him yowling from the house. We'd go down and guide him back, silly bugger. He went missing a week before we shifted...they know these things.

One move I went back to the old house to bring the cat home 13 times, finally leaving him there - sometimes they just need to be at what they call home.
