    Handlebar question

First off....i've done a bit of a search and can't find an answer for this so any input would be appreciated...
I have an 09 and the stock bars seemed a little bit low,so after some research i bought a set of RC High Twinwalls which are 10mm higher and have a 15mm increase in rise, measured against a wall the is a 30mm increase in height, rode a few times and they just felt a little bit too high.(trails not MX)
So today i done a bit of mucking around swapping them and measuring from different points and i'm a bit baffled by the results.
So i put the bike on a stand, started with the stock bars, rolled them forward a bit to the spot i like best, measured from the floor to grip, then from the foot peg to the grip.....then i put the Twinwalls on(being careful not to move anthing)put them to the sweet spot and measured to the exact same points and low and behold the measurements are the same, yet the Twinwalls look alot higher.
Now i admit i'm not an expert on different bar bends and i was goin to buy another set,but from what i see on Renthal's website there is nothing in between, and according to my measurements today i would be wasting money anyway.
For the record i'm a wisker under 6ft....cheers in advance for any input
    Steve

Well i figured it out....to get the stock bars comfortable i had to roll them forward which causes the grip section to point upwards, which basically works out the same height as the higher bar but with them the grip section is level.....so mystery solved

I had bar risers on both my CR and the Ktm's but one day when I went to Dangers workshop (proride suspension) to get my bike resprung and revalved for my fat old arse we had a discussion about the risers, as I had bent mine.
His advice was chuck them away they push you to far back, make you stand to much rather than keep your head over the triple clamp where its supposed to be in the attack position with elbows bent.
I took the advice and haven't missed them at all, back to standard now. I think he was right. Although I'm still as slow as I ever was LOL!!
Also watch you don't roll your bars to far forward and end up with sore wrists from a funny wrist angle like i did.
I also moved mine forward to the front hole in the triple clamp bloody funny how much difference just 20mm makes it was hugely better!
Thats if info from a Ktm owner is of any use to you LOL!!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

Good thing about your new bars is the smaller diff between rise and height means angle changes less when you rotate them (as you found?). So should be OK for hands in more positions.

I'm a touch under 6' as well. I couldn't find a higher bar with dimensions I wanted (small amount of sweep) so I only went 10mm higher. Agree with Reckless on risers. You go up, but with mount angle you also end up going back = even more cramped, and with less adjustability than higher bar.

I have my mount blocks in max forward position and also my mounts have an offset hole so they can be reversed for even more front/rear adjustability. Maybe yours has an offset that might help you get the best position?
