Definitely get new bars... some straighter moto-x style bars would make it much better to ride, and perhaps modify the footpegs/brake/gear-lever to give it a better riding position... so much to improve, so many possibilites![]()
Yeah, nah.
Be careful with your new mirror when you get one.
I don't know if anyone has told you but GN mirrors are not meant to be pointed at the bike itself, by doing so will cause them to crack and you'll be back at square one.
One excellent speed modification you should consider is installing a steep hill/cliff underneath the bike and for a few extra HP attach a tail wind to it as well.
Ya know what though he might be onto something here.
one of those projects I've been thinking would be a total laugh would be to try to give a ginny some sort of cred.
I wonder if the dr250 cams fit and if theres hottish cams? Dump the factory multi skin exhaust and fit a single skin setup with reverse cone megaphone.
dump the factory seat, back fender maybee fit a bucket racetail. heck theyre cheap enough. a person could have fun with that kinda project.
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?
You may strike it lucky and one of Cole, Harris, Stroud or Shiriffs might volunteer to be development riders for fine tuning midrange torque and top end speed.

Yeah, nah.
I like your thinking Frosty
A question to the pro's amongst here, I was told by a rider I could get a turbo for the GN is that possible, where could I get one and how much? Something to do with a briggs an stratton something. Flat bars are worth the money too.
I don't think there are any pre made gn turbo kits like there are for the busaChances are you can't "get a turbo for a gn", you would just need to find a very small car turbo and do all the fab work yourself. Probably only a couple hundred max for the parts and materials, but you would need to have the tools and know how to do it, and it wouldn't be that simple to get it running well

LOL. I hear B & S are big on factory turbed.. er.. products these days..
It would have to be the smallest turbo ever.. I think a tiny supercharger would be better, again if there as one small enough.
My buddy and I had talked a lot about a GN project, I told him all I'd do is strip EVERYTHING unnecessary off, lower the front end, gear it down and try wheelie it everywhere haha.
People on KB have posted project 125 buckets and turbo'd them, but I think it was more of a battery powered air blower/fan attached to the carb! Don't see why that wouldn't work... The fuel/air ratios would be crazy but maybe a rev counter could be attached to a variable resistor in between the "turbo" and the power source to make it run good? Listening, Dean?
If it was battery powered, then I imagine there would be either of 2 problems.
1. carrying charged batteries, electric motors are not awesome on power saving under load.
2. putting heaps of load on your already rubbish charging system..
I reckon on such a lame motor you would be better off with a second tank full of nitro methaneHave a wee injector plumbed straight into the carb..
Or a pair of 20lb NOS bottles on the pillion seat..
