    Puhoi pub regular ride?

Today I visited the Puhoi pub for the first time on a bike. Damn cool place, it has executive parking for bikes, I like that. Had a nice cold beer and then hopped on my bike and rode back to Papakura.

Unfortunately I stuffed it up twice as I was leaving.

    1) Was just about ready to leave and then realized I had forgotten to put my gloves on
    2) Went to leave and bike cut-out because I still had the kick-stand down. DAMMIT! Yep, did that in front of a whole bunch of bikers and normals too.

Anyway, as it's a nice summer and all. Who'd be keen on setting up a regular weekend noobie ride to the Puhoi pub for a beer?

Haha its not like any of these other bikers watching have never made a mistake....First time I went up to Puhoi on a bike was in the 70,s on trail bikes, four of us got kicked out because one of our mates looked a bit young, well we were all under age,but the drunk manager at the time didnt like us much and we kind of left with the locals threatening us a lot ....they didnt like Jap bikes and their riders much back then..
Got thrown out again years later. But thats another story..

It's not quite the same now they've prettied it up and straightened the floor.

Not that long ago....... when i was a local.... the idea was to get to know the Bar tender, give him a few drinks.... then after hours the doors would be shut leaving a select few in, once the bar tender was in a very happy mood after helping him along, the drinks would begin to flow. (sometimes free ) Oh i have had many a great night there, and many interesting rides home (yes i am sorry)
Also had many a great night becoming very very very happy for as little as $10 belivev it or not.

I miss the puhoi pub big time.

do they still do pies in the warmer?

I think i still have a Tie pinned up inside the front door.

And i always turned up on a japa. Just to piss the locals off lol

Says who? Last time I was up there, 6 months ago, I distinctly felt the age old floor board wobble in the far left corner by the pool table.
Hey man, nice to see you. A regular ride to the Puhoi could be a definite go with this kid.
Used to ride up there almost every saturday arvo for many a year.
Every day above ground is a good day!:

    Sounds like a good idea.

We quite often go there for lunch on a sunny day. Nice place for a few quiet drinks, it is surprising who you can catch up with really.

Went up on Sunday for lunch, picked up Stu at Papakura and an exellent ride up and back. Food and refreshmnets were good and the "bike only" parking just makes it.
Good range of bikes 650 Trophy, 750 Ducati & older Guzzi were the pick.

Yeah the bike only parking is pretty awesome. Pick of the day when i was there would have been the 996 (with a girly on if my eyes serve me correctly from the pub to the main road) and a nice old ducati doing wheelies everywhere in front of me on the way out.
