    Saddle bags for my Jackal?

Am looking for some panniers or saddle bags for my Moto Guzzi Jackal. Want a set of "cruiser looking" bags. Been in touch with a Moto Guzzi dealer and a new set of genuine hard bags will set me back over $1500. Too rich for this dude! Like the look of the Willie and Max leather 'look-a-like' bags but can only find them on trade me and don't want to fork out the bucks to find they don't fit or don't look right. I have fitted a genuine sissy bar/pack rack to the bike so as Mrs Jackal feels a bit more secure on the back so has all the connecting points for hard case brackets or soft saddlebag supports. Am in Mid Canterbury so would ideally like to check them out on the bike before I purchase or speak to someone who has already done what I am wanting to do. Anyone out there got any ideas? Should I say GOOD ideas!!!

Why you are here check out the bike shops as they may have some cruiser style bags ready made. Heaps off plain throwovers around cheapish.
All depends what you like really.
    Nice Jackel by the way.

Yeh, will do. Popped into one of the local bike shops here is Ashburton and he suggested the 'K- Drive' range. Once again I am looking at about a grand which is a bit too rich for me at the mo. Good looking bags with a great system for removal and locking but can I justify the cost??? Cheers for the comment on the Jackal. Thanks again SDU.

If you find you need some custom saddle bag supports making, this bloke's in your area. I can vouch for the high quality of his work:

It has taken a while but I have finally got the luggage problem sorted. Had a look around the bike shops in Chch and decided the Willie & Max type of bags would look OK. Found a set on trademe and bought them. Molly gave me the name of someone in the area to make up the supports, (Thanks Molly). Jon made the supports with stainless and he did an excellent job. I can highly reccommend Jons work to anyone looking to get this sort of work done, and very reasonible cost to! The throw over system would not work with my bike because of the sissy bar/pack rack grab handles. So I had the bags hard mounted to the supports which only require 4 bolts to attach and remove. Thanks to all for the suggestions submitted. No stopping us now getting away for the weekend. Even enough room for Mrs Jackals hair dryer!!!
