How far can you go?

I got roughly 400km (250 miles) from a 21 litre tank. Just under 13 km/litre...ish.

Fuel light comes on at 200 miles... a tad early and around the 16.5 litre mark.

The Roady does 300km per 19 litre tank but I dont push it past 240km. Provided I fill the can the R71 does 580km.

The ST1300 has a huge 29L tank on it, and I have had 525 km's out of it - it's a nice feeling to have that sort of range available, especially when some whippersnappers on KTM's are chasing and passing you on the Grand Challenge!

That's pretty damn impressive, alright, from the T-Bird.
Anyway, I have a '96 TDM850 - 20l tank @ 18km/l = 360 kms before fumes. I like to fill it before that happens, though.
Fuel usage has been averaged over 16 mths and 25k kms.
The economy has been worsening slightly over recent times; I suspect the well-reported TDM850 needle jets may need replacing.

360kms! Your brave. I fill up at 280k ish & it must be pretty close to reserve. I know my emulsion tubes are oval though. I average 6.5ltr/100k.

360 kms is an untested estimate - usually fill up between 250-300 kms so as not to test the "fumes" theoretical range. They are a fine bike, but far, far too heavy to push and I am feeling older and more frail as time goes by. I have been looking at the FactoryPro site and may look at doing them before a big trip in February.

Average is 5.7l/100km

Interesting, I can't get near that number on mine. Have you doen any mods to yours?

Me neither. 2000 W/g, basically stock and I struggle to get 250km per tank. I think my best on light-throttle commuting was about 252 when I switched to reserve. Last w/e I was a bit hard on it and the needle was in the red at 195. How and where you're riding makes a big difference.

That's pretty good going, but there are plenty of flat, straight roads in your neck of the woods. Try a few blasts over the Takaka hill lol.

I have a 18ltr tank and get anywere from 117km---194km. before the fuel light come's on.. About 130k is the norm

I can get about 300km before I am out of gas (never been there - or even hit reserve) - that's why I always fill-up when I've done 260km or so.

Thats why I like my 1450cc plodder, over 55mpg easily iin the old fashioned way...

I don't really want to find out.. apart from the obvious inconvenience of being stuck in the middle of no-where, I don't want the fuel injectors, or fuel pump to run dry, or worse, run on the water and other crap that inevitably finds its way into a fuel tank over time...

yeah, heard it's not good to run the injectiors dry.
