Do not want a Tas Taka....or any bike built around a yank car engine.

Always fancied trying a rotary...New Norton now, maybe or back then the Van Veen OCR1000 with 100 hp at 6500rpm....Probably not the RE 5 with 65 odd hp....

Look on the bright side, they can only get better.
A gn250 however, well bad as they are, can only get worse. I would rather walk than ride a gn, at least I'd retain some self respect.

Plenty of bikes out there with more torque than I know what to do with now mate...but they have engines that make neat noises and smell good!

Always hated choppers, as they incorporate everything that shouldn't be done to make a motorcycle handle/steer properly etc...
Anyways, as part of a 47 Triumph restoration, I now have a 70's style rigid chopper frame, extended forks, ape hangars etc sitting in the shed. I'm thinking seriously of rebuilding it in the true 1970's style, just for giggles...

Can't think of anything I wouldn't own really, maybe I just have no sense of shame anymore...
    Where's that fucking spanner...

Acytually - Im one of the people here that WOULD buy a ho'bag.

I think that thay are a great little bike for a learner, decent (physical) sized, cheap and look ok'ish - certainly for the few months whilst you get past the 250 restriction.

But fucked if I'd own one after I was past my 250 period - they are embarrasing - esp the cruiser.

Plenty of better bikes out there that can be had for the same money.

Other bikes I would not own? I donno - probally any second chineese / korean POS bike that are poor copies of the hard work opf other companies R+D departments, and assembled like they have been throwen together in some sweatshop.

Other than that - I ride what suits my ever changing requirements and personal taste at the time. A Striple today - tomorrow it could be a Harley. Hell Im even thinking of a GN250 to pimp like Dean just for some fun with my kid.

    I would never own:
    1. A hard core sportsbike - my back and wrists would punish me and my license would leave me in a huff
    2. A full dress tourere - a bike is meant to be minimalistic
    3. Another old Brit bike - I now prefer riding to fixing
    4. A Boss Hog - why?
    5. A 70s or 80s UJM - I had them back in the day, and I used to cope with hinged frames and mushy brakes, but not anymore
Don't blame me, I voted Green.

That cruiser got some good road tests. Not my style though.

Only bike I can think of that I wouldn't ever want to own is the Boss Hoss. If I won one though...

Ulysses are running their raffle again but looking at the choice of 19 bikes on offer (plus a watercraft and an off-road vehicle) there isn't really much that excites this year. OK, there's a Hyabusa and a GSXR1000, but at this stage of my riding career they are about as interesting as the MP3 - 400. There's three Aprilias, three Harleys, a 750 Moto Guzzi, and a Bonnie.
    There's a ZX6R but there's also a DN-01.

Of most interest to me would be the Tenere, the Varadero, or even more so the KTM Duke. For all of which the most useful accessory would likely be a ladder...

Ah well, no good worrying too much,I haven't even bought a bloody ticket yet.

I would never but a Chinese made piece of shite. Hopefully production of all bikes isn't moved there in the near future!

My experience of Kawasaki is that they are really well made bikes. More pricey than Suzuki, but great quality kit. The finishig seems so much better. Never owned one though. Rode a ZX14 recently and loved it.

The Hyonsungs grabbed my attention a couple of years back when I was looking for a commuter bike. Good writups but I hated the fact that they were using drum brakes where they should not. Their 650cc engine seemed pretty good to me.

But each to their own. I didn't buy either

Yeah, I have absolutely no reason why I don't like the Kawasaki's - really can't explain it, but just don't, from the first moment I rode, I felt that way - however, I forgot to add Harleys to that list.............. The Hyosungs don't have a good record with reliability, so won't go there either.

Not really a Hardley fan and my mental image is of their old cumbersome underpowered heaps of metal.

I would happily accept a V-ROD as a gift (great bike)

    DO IT!
Get one of trademe for around 500-1g for old models or 2g for the 06 models, get the right handlebars (should be cheap from cycle treads), get it a nice tacho/speedo hanging of the side of tank and the rest go from there. Cheap project, your kid will love it and it would teach him a little more on mechanics.
Its more of an accomplishment to make a slow bike fast not a fast biker fast-er, plus the GN would get more notoriety.
