I don't believe that there is any brand of Bike I wouldn't buy, but I can't ever see me buying a bike where the foot pegs are so far forward that I can't stand vertically on the pegs. I guess that means most cruiser styles are out as are the touring type Hondas and a few others.

When I was young and everything was black and white, there were many things I wouldn't touch, among them Harleys, Goldwings, any Honda, any Kawasaki. The years have softened the old warhorse though, Iv'e had a goldwing, 3 Harleys, many Hondas etc. In a world where everything is a grey area there is nothing I wouldn't consider now.

I still favour some brands over others though, old habits and prejudices die hard eh. If every company made an identical bike with a different badge on it, I would still be looking to buy a Yam, Suzuki ,Harley, Bmw and the last ones I would consider would be Triumph, Kawasaki, aprillia. I can't even give you a good reason for it but it is what it is. I don't think I will ever understand why Trumpies are so popular over here but give it enough time and I'll probably be a proud owner of one of them too,
    Oh bugger

That's why I still have the 'mid-pegs' on the T-Sport, at times it's handy to stand on the pegs!

And probably the reason why the Sporty is one of the few Harleys I would consider for a decent ride.

    I will. I can't wait to give 2 fingers to BP/Caltex, etc
Few moving parts, lower servicing. Massive torque, no gearbox.

    Oh..topic

I will never own another Suzuki unless it's a well sorted X5.

We should have a KB Cool Wall. Like Top Gear.
Elect an esteemed impartial committee to make the decisions of how each bike fits in. Then judgement is final.

Can we have a fridge at the far end, no need to plug it in, I will put my Mk1 LeMans in there to keep it ice cold

    Committee...........
Unless they are well over 40 The Mk 1 Lemans would probably not get a mention.

I have a coffee table book I got one Xmas from the late 90's....the Lemans gets to # 14 and its a Mk3... ( the Darmah however doesn't even make the top 100....along with the R90s)

The top 5 of that book were:
    5: Honda C50
    4:Fireblade
    3:HD Electoglide
    2ucati 916
    1: R1

    Lists ...who needs them.

Anything that weighs more than 250 kg would be out, anything from china is out, most things that make less than 1 hp per 10 cc are out.

Personally, apart from the odd commuter situation like my Sachs madass, I never see bikes as a practical transport. Rather I ride one because in some way or another it rings my bell, puts a smile on my dial and makes me feel good.

Now I don't know about you but me, my mood changes as I get older, and even day to day and so I would never say that I would never own any type of bike. I could only say that doesn't appeal to me at the moment.

In this same regard I sort of associate Harleys with zimmerframes.... but I could end up with both sooner or later
Everyone has an opinion.. mine can be found here Riding Articles
