I would never own a BKing - waaaaay too big and scary for me (and a bit on the ug side).

Lots and lots of bikes would be in my "never own" category as most are too big for my widdle short weggies, and I'd never own one just to admire it - it would have to be rideable!

I wouldn't ever own a scooter. The ones I used to ride were beyond hopeless in nearly every department.

Wouldn't own a chinese bike, or something too heavy to pick up if I dropped it, e.g. a Goldwing.

I've been looking after a 2003 Ducati MH900e for the last 6 months or so. It's been nice having it and riding it about once a month, but in standard form that's about all it is good for. A full tank lasts 110km before the fuel light comes on (small tank) and the last two times riding it I've found myself stressing out that I'm not going to make the next gas station despite never riding more than 100km from Auckland. You really have to stop at every gas station on the open road just to be safe. Then there is the very average braking performance, and the bottom shelf/bargain bin suspension. It handles smooth roads ok, but it gets more than a bit pissy on your usual NZ highway. The motor is fairly good, but lacks any real excitement. The riding position is interesting, it's enjoyable for about 10km then you just better hope the ride is interesting enough to take your mind off your sore wrists, otherwise you're going to get a six pack holding the weight off your wrists. You can't ride it in the rain because if the dash/tacho gets wet the entire bike will stop working - and you'd better hope that the dash is salvageable if it does get wet because a replacement won't be cheap. I recently accidentally broke a small plastic fuel connection, it cost $117 to replace and took three weeks to come from Italy.

I'm hoping the 1200cc NCR race motor, brembo brakes and Ohlins suspension the owner has bought to put in it transform it into what it should have been from the factory. It has the looks, but as a special edition bike it really should be so much more than just a pretty face (beauty is in the eye of the beholder). In saying that, I get more compliments about it than any other bike I've ridden. It's almost impossible to stop to get gas/coffee/whatever on it without someone asking questions about it. For the price they sell for you can buy much better bang for buck. I wouldn't ever own a standard one, but I'm looking forward to riding it once it has had its extreme makeover.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
