Hello everyone ,

Steps:
Buy copy of Motorcycle road code. (Possibly the hardest step, as they're much harder to get than the standard road code).
Find out who the instructor is in your area.
Pay money for lessons, get basic handling cert.
Pay money for learners test, have fun with scratchies.
Buy L plate.
Buy bike, stay away from anything that's 2 stroke, has R or RR after the bike name. Generally anything above 30hp. (Unless you want your first bike to be your last...).
Buy gear.
Attach L plate. (The second hardest task)
Go around the block a few times early sunday morning. Repeat.
Go slightly further out. Repeat
And there in ends the learner license progression.
local AA office for riding schools near you

If you say either "I can" or "I can't" your correct.
OK
First : You have to get what is called a Basic Handling Certificate. You need this BEFORE you can get a Learner license. The Basic Handling Certificate (as the name implies) shows that you know the basics of riding a bike. How to start, stop, go round a corner without falling off.
To get the Basic Handling Cert you need to get some lessons at a riding school, who will also do the test . Usually about 3 hours is enough for lessons and the riding school will then put you through the test. Might be a bit more if you've never ridden a pushbike or driven a car. As Mr Rusty says, call your AA for details of local schools. The school will supply a bike and crash helmet so you don't need to buy your own just yet
Once you pass (you will, because a good school will work with you until you do) you need to get your Learners license. To do that you take your Basic Handling Cert to the AA (or other LTSA agent but AA is usual) and pass a theory test on the road code. (So you need to know the road code, get a copy if you don't have one. Note that there is a special Motorcycle edition of the Raod Code). You also have to pass an eyesight test .
Once you have your Learner license you may legally ride (on your own) on your bike.
So now you need to buy a bike. There's lots of posts about suitable bikes on here, so do a search. The Suzuki GN250 is most popular, and a very good learners bike. You also need to buy a crash helmet and other protective clothing (jacket, leggings, boots, gloves) THESE ARE ESSENTIAL. DON'T SKIMP. Once again, lots of posts here about what's best. Search
On a learner license you are not allowed a bike bigger than 250cc. And you can only do 70kph maximum. And you can't take a passenger . And some other restrictions which I can't remember (except not being allowed to tow a trialer - WTF)
After a period on your learner license (depends on age) you can sit the test for a restricted license - and then a full one.
Off you go. You'll have a wonderful time. Ride Safe, Have Fun.

I really appreciate the help you have all given me , i will now attemp to get my license , im also really looking forward to it , once again thankyou![]()
If you do go with the lessons & Practical test I would suggest buying a Helmet before hand - The reason why is usually the have been worn so many time you probably wouldn’t like to think what’s living in it(Or been in it
), and having something that fits properly can do wonders
. Im glad I already had mine after seeing what the instructor had..

Best of Luck!
