    Damned Wellington wind!

Just found my bike had been blown over by the welly wind and I'm none too happy!

Still, the only damage is a bit of the battery acid has leaked out and the bobble on the end of the front brake came off. Considering it's the first time I've ever seen a bike on it's side I'm quite impressed with how little damage was done I'm also quite chuffed that the first time it went over I wasn't on top of it!!!

Bugger that it went over but good that you can see a brighter side to it.

Heh, you should have seen the panic when I was told it was on it's side, I was certain it'd be a write off until I got downstairs!!

If you mean ("bobble") the end of the brake lever - I think that may be a W.O.F. requirement.
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.

You've had just about every problem you can have with a bike haven't you. If it's not one thing it's the other.

Your GN is going to be worth about $1 by the time you get around to selling it

Yeah, I thought that as well. I figure I might as well replace both levers anyway, then they can be all matching ans shiney. Fortunately it's not an expensive part so I can afford to have some symetry

nah, by the time I've finished with it it'll be mint!!

I think the main problem I've had with the thing is that I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I'm only halfway up the surprisingly steep learning curve of motorcycle maint.

So by the sounds of it you had a bit of a unstable day, how unfortunate such a blow over to your biking career, remember times can be a bit windy but you must keep things upright in life. Much love Dean.

I used to commute from Paraparaumu to Wellington on the CB250RS, 100kph wind behind, 60Kph into it. I moved to Palmy, much milder...

There was a guy parked next to me on a GS500 (I think, orange naked Suzuki anyway) and that was on the same angle from the pavement and leaned over to the same angle so I must confess to being a bit agrieved having thought I'd done everything right. It really could have been a lot worse though as we both park either side of one of those yellowed out boxes, if we'd parked next to each other I could well have ended up with a hefty bill to pay when mine fell onto his!

I'm still using the Pram to Welly wind tunnel for daily rider training. Has been entertaining the last few days, how far you can go in a straight line with 15 - 20 degrees of lean on.
