Wonderful weather, dry tracks & low river crossings.
The DOC lady at sign-in said two other "Dusty Bummers" (her words) had gone in the day before.
Just one more open weekend this season guys - go for it.

    1) Palmer Hut
    2) Heron River Gorge (Jeff's pic is way better)
    3) The clever DOC contractors have used my product. Fantastic - it's now a business trip
    4) Track winds through some big country
    5) Quail Flat homestead, where we turned back.

Looks like an excellent trip guys.

Is it just me or do others really love dry open countryside? Must be part of my JAFA roots that makes me appreciate it after living amongst suburbs & suburbs of ex State houses

Not just you, my man - great country up there - I am going to be overnighting in there with my mate on his Dr Big - Woodman and yourself should come down and we'll blind him with three KLRs - or will Schmidtty be well by then? (Am I still the only member of the Scmidtty fan club or are others seeing the light?)

To fully appreciate Schmitty you need to wear a 3/4 helmet, flying goggles and a fake handlebar moustache.

Not sure on numbers limit but we just turned up early & signed in with the DOC lady.
She said there were 30+ 4wd's in there with us yesterday! However be prepared to be turned away if weather looks dodgy - they did this mid day Saturday evidently.

Hopefully will be heading up there one way or another but still a bit up in the air. Didnt get to see the north branch late last year due to the slip.
