It's a common and frustrating occurence in the windy city unfortunately, even with bigger bikes - just ask James Deuce.

My 250 got blown over once as well when it was parked in front of 1 of the tramping shops on Mercer Street - I was very fortunate because by the time I arrived at my bike some other kind soul had picked it up for me. Glad it's not serious damage.
My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.

Hey MagicMonkey, next time attach one of these to your bike, it'll help, honest!

I remember actually watching my KR get blown over while looking at it from my office a few years ago....

Talking about wind, I went to Taupo and back today, whilst not up to Well'y standards it gave me the willies. Went the Broadlands road way and hell it blew me around a bit. On the way back a gust hit me, it felt like someone had whacked my head with a pillow...hard. Following a truck carrying hay, well that was an experience too, surprised if he had any left when he got home.

My bike blew over too....with me on it! Went to Wairarapa on Wednesday...an experience I don't want to repeat in a hurry. Sweet as until half way up the Takas. Stopped at the summit and the wind was fair howling. Pootling towards the road to get going again and was blown off into the fence. Bent footpeg and broken rear indicator but ok otherwise. Much calmer once we reached Featherson and good through to Masterton. Headed towards Eketahuna, not a breath of wind then suddenly wham it was fair howling again and started to rain. What to do....through Pahiatua to home, probably just as bad going that way...or back to the relative calm of Masterton and brave the Takas again? Takas won out...but what an effing butt clencher....it was way worse than in the morning. Rounding every left turn we were blown to hell and back. Just below the summit on the Welly side both hubby and I got blown right over into the other lane into the path of an oncoming car and he very nearly came off. My mojo blew away at that point so stopped for a minute to get my shit together and nearly got blown off just sitting there. All the way down I was holding on for grim death. Wind still howling in the Hutt and over the Haywards. I got to Pauatahanui and I'd had it....sat there getting sand blasted, looking at the clouds racing and could not face battling the wind on the highway all the way home. Lft the bikes at hubbys work at Plimmerton and took a ute home. First time I've ever piked out on a ride! Get two mins up the road, the wind dropped off, and hardly a breath all the way home....bloody hell!! Friends said later that night that it was blowing a gale in Welly all afternoon. We did check the forecast before setting off, on cable weather channel and heard it 3 times on the radio that morning...and not a mention of severe wind. Sigh. Not fun is it!!

Yep, happened to me two, twice! Those KRs are light and skinny and the Wellington wind catches the fairing like a kite!
