my boss asked me if i had made a decision yet on my " to be purchased new bike". I had a few more bikes i wanted to try, seeing the afternoon at work was quiet i was let off. so i left work early at 3 and did some test driving, making sure i rang bmw experience to book a bike. I tried a bmw 650gs 2004 "single thumper" and quite enjoyed it, not as much as the 650 transalp though. so on returning to experience bmw i had a go on a twin cylinder f800s, not my style at all but oh boy what a difference. anyway, went to end of #16 motorway and returned back to the dealership. As I neared the end of my test ride, I was thinking about my answers to the inevitable questions " How was that?" As I was about less then 1km away, decided to give it one more " flick of the throttle" and as I pulled in at Experience BMW I heard the sirens behind me, and saw the flashing lights of the unmarked police car. John and James came out of the shop with the slight smuck grin on their faces, watching as I had to endure the lecture of the officer. Fully aware of that I was in the wrong I was handed my ticket for speeding. The officer proceeded telling me all the + and advantages of the NZ Police Force BMW 1150 RT and convinced John I was due for a special discount, . . . equivalent at least to the amount of my ticket. My " estimated" speed was 85km in the 50k zone.... a wonderful $300 ! OuchLucky I got to keep my license !
John, ......
I will be back to try that 1150 RT.
