    Cheng shin C858's.......

Anyone tried these on thier adv bike? what were they like?? Main use of bike on seal (commuting) with some gravel excursions at the moment.

I've never used them, but they have good shoulders so should be good on the road....and not too bad on gravel. The main problem I find with ''adventure'' tyres on gravel is that they have poor braking control...you can control drive traction with the throttle, but lack of brake control is a bit more of a problem for me.They'd be ok on hard pack, but stay away from mud.

I have a Cheng Shin C 755 on the rear of my XT,this is Not for Highway Service (NHS),but I find it great on the (dry) road....it's melting as I look at it,she's gunna be cooked in 1000km.
