    Baited by a Lamborghini...

Usual mundane commute home this afternoon, nice sunny weather pootling up the motorway. Watching for cops, watching speed kinda enjoying the sun and the ride home where a cold beer and a BBQ'd steak await my return.

Last few glances in my mirror have registered a wide low car moving in / out traffic. Within seconds a big green Lamborghini Diablo VT, Rego - RS, is right up my arse then pulls alongside me.

F**K ME the guy driving it was about 157 years old, grey hair wearing general old man type attire and a cap. Once alongside me gives a look over and floors the thing. I'm not really a car person but this thing looked and sounded awesome, the noise it made as it took off sounded like a 747.

Luckily for me I had anticipated this move and was already down 2 cogs in the box........... why am I even thinking about doing this????

Quick burst and i think, Fuck it, home safe to beer, steak, kid and wife. (listed there in order of what first came into my head. Let him go.

Few K's he'd slowed right down to let me pass / catch up and tries the same trick again. Tempting but no thanks. Seeing the service station approaching i decide to pull off, be a pussy and fill up, grab a drink and get back into the frame of mind of enjoying a summer commute home. Far too tempting to stay on the M/Way with him and lose my license.

    Moral of the story........................................

Well F All really. Made a change to riding and been baited by 19 year old kid with a MitsiUbaru big exhast GTi turbo'd look at my 15 year old suped up piece of shitmobile.

You old rich fucker with heaps of cash should have more sense. If i get caught I could not afford the same high profile lawyer to get me off a dangerous driving charge.

Car was heading into Hazzard anyway so he prob is a few $$$ lighter tonight. Nice car tho dude and thanks for the few seconds buzz when i thought about it.

Why? He's not got where he is by doing sensible things, has he? And besides if he gets fined - big deal. If he's told to walk, he'll get a chauffeur.

    Exactly. But he can.

He might be old, grey and wearing a cap but he's getting to hoof around in a Lambo and, for whatever reason, you're not. He's probably going to go home, bang a few models, snort some coke then knock it on the head and call it a quiet night.

When you hear a Lambo or Ferrari light up you realise that all those children in Evos and WRXs are merely playing at sports cars.

As you say, a nice change from some tosser in a 4cyl jappa trying the same thing...

On two seperate occasions I've seen a Mclaren F1 driving down the motorway, don't think I could resist if he pulled up next to me, even though it would probably kill my Gixxer.

You can always have the satisfaction of knowing how much you paid for your bike vs. his car and the fact he will never understand nor get the thrill of leaning into a corner.

On the other hand, you will never know and understand the satisfaction of owning an exotic automobile.

    Vice versa.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

But you will have the misery of knowing that exotic automobile costs three or four (or more) times YOUR annual salary ... and if HE bin's it .... HE can afford to buy a new one ...

How do you know that? Plenty of older guys used to ride bikes - and plenty still do.

Until you come to some corners and you find out the guy in the Lambo can't drive.
I've been passed by one of these, only to out drive the tosser though the next set of bends -in an MX5

The fact that he looked across and baited, has me thinking he might have quite the stable of bikes too lol unless it was his dads car bwahahahaha
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !
