What's the story with the chain being on the wrong side? Is that just what Harley does sometimes or has the pic been reversed?

Right side drive. It's for the choppers that have big fat rear tires. Helps get rid of the massive primary drive that is needed to get the tranny in the right area to get power to the back wich causes alot of them to be heavy on the left side.

Yeah I probably would - for a bit of fun.

I know I'm sick, it's the lack of a bike that's doing it. But I'm picking up my prescription tomorrow, I mean a new Bird. Wooohooooo

Somehow, loosing my bike makes life sad, but I really dont think seat sniffing is going to make it better

As a relative newbie around here mate, you might want to have a quick search through my 4000 previous posts.

I think you'll find I'm a staunch Harley supporter (except Skirtsters) who in the not too distant future will have one in my gargre.

I ride Gixxers right now because they allow me to get up to the sort of shenanigans I'm famous for.

Primary drive is diferent from final drive, you should know that. I'm not sure if what I said before is the whole reason for having a big belt for the primary that's just how it was explained to me by one of the guys at the Ironhorse shop in Dallas. And considering how successfull they are I'm inclined to listen to them.

But it aint a big block mate, or a chopper.

    it's a sportster.

Which is why the chain is on the R/H side.
