Hurricane Hill descent looked steep. Which is hard to capture in camera sometimes. Which means it was really steep
IT'S JUST BETTER WHEN THERE'S TWINS INVOLVED..

    Oh yeah

Let me put it into perspective.
I've never ridden down Linton Hill and I've seen 125 2-strokes being towed back with dead clutches from trying to get up it. I've never done it on the DR either.

The XLR and CT 125's didn't make it up Hurricane Hill even when the surface was good.

With the erosion it's all about line choice.

    Ya turned your engine off!!!!

Looks very rutty on hurricane, would make going up a tad more challenging.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

The Christchurch lads definitely need to head up your way soon for a good weekend ride, some of the areas covered in your vids look great Nordieboy, I'd be dead keen to have a crack at getting up Hurricane Hill

Of course I turned the engine off. I like hearing the birdies.
You've got to hang left and then cross over to the middle near the start of the second uphill bit, otherwise you're stuck in a rut...

Hurricane Hill before it was logged, where the clay base is in permanent shade, is the first one here and Linton Hill is the next big one...
They're quite similar but one has a gritty clay base and the other is bumpy rock and fine shale.
The bumpy rock bits play havoc with the rear of the DR. I tried 3 times when I made this vid...
Also has footage of NordieBro trying unsuccessfully to get up Mt Everest on several bikes. In the pissing rain at the end...

The difference with Hurricane Hill is that you expect to get up it. If your line choice is bad, it may take a few goes though.

for anyone with a gopro hd, there's a place up north selling aftermarket batteries for $20.
I got one and they're great, just as good as the official ones.

I usually carry two batteries with me but for you more hardcore adventure types that do longer rides, over nighters or weekends, then they could be useful. Gopro ones are still about $45 ea.
