I believe that would be the responsible thing to do in this instance

Ok on day of the BIKEOI we stacked 6 bikes to each angle park (with odd exceptions for Cruisers and other fat bastards) and had 800 bikes right in front of Parliament
We had 150 more in front of the uni buildings, and about 150 more spread around in gaps and vacated car parks (4 bikes would instantly occupy any spot cages vacated LOL)

I aint suggesting we close Molesworth st at all. Council have been ASKED by the Police to 'consider' allowing us the angle parks, reserved from midnight to 2pm for US

Bear in mind that means council paying Scuzme (from KB's) team of road crews to cone it off (1.5k bill roughly) and losing 2k in parking revenue for the day
They did it last time..I am hoping the agree again (Please Mr Visser, you too will suffer a levy hike bruv!)

IF they DONT agree...fuck me I have NO idea where they bikes wil park

Stadium have yet to confirm they will alow us to 'overflow' to there pristine freshly repaired pavements, but they are likely to assist us (they LOVE bikers despite the asshole on the blue sporty that did the damage)

BOTTOM LINE is COME to Molesworth.
IF we need to redirect, you will be informed by the Marshals
Please do as they ask its likely theyre a KBer just like you

Arrive early...12 it starts allow for contingincies and think 'Parked and settled at 1130'

    See ya all there

    Osu!
    Just ride.

I see I got the anticipated response from the lemmings on here.

Well you know what, you are being used. You didnt invite the Unions to support the Bikoi, you've given it to them. Now its their platform to bash the government, and the bikers are there to "prove" the point.

    This is how unions operate.

I personally hate the increase. I note that the cost of being snapped unregistered is $200 and the probablility of getting caught is what - once every 2-3 years. I can do that math, and i think a civil disobedience campaign is far more likely to be effective than letting the CTU and the Service Workers union pretend to be friends to motorcyclists.

Don't believe me? Then ask yourself why they have suddenly decided that this is a major cause.

Turning to ACC itself. It is a weird institution. A no fault accident scheme that the previous government tried to turn into part of the welfare entitlement system by offering "compensation" for things that weren't accidents.

Surprise surprise it is unaffordable. SO the choice is clear. Whack the users hard - and bikers are small in number and very visible in the stats - even if the majority of the accidents are inflicted on us by cages. OR

We could go back to funding accidents only.

    OR

    We could have compulsory insurance.

Well I have 4 bikes and 3 cars. Personally I would like to pay one bloody insurance premium for me based on my risk, rather than 7 times for the privilege.

Any of you may have a different view.

Assuming you can be bothered reading down this far, without telling me to fuck myself again, then let me tell you what I think.

    The levy increase stinks

Its because ACC is a convenient piggybank and SUCCESSIVE governments have dicked with it in secret.

    It needs daylight and transparency.

It does not need bloody unions manipulating bikers to bash the government.

If you want a Biker protest, fine. I will be there.

You want a CTU anti-government save ACC rally, well save that for Nurenberg. As I said, you've been PWNED by the unions who have taken over our issue.

But you know, why not tear up the lawn and sing the red fucking flag and show what heroes you are.

and I'll tell you something else for free.

I respect the effort you are putting in.

I share your hatred of this new tax.

But why is the solution to "save ACC"?

How did the protest at unjust fee hikes become a campaign to save the cause of the unjust fee hikes?

Its because ACC is a fucking shambles that we are being hammered. So whats to save.

Fix it or can it, but save it? why?

Is that the message you are trying to send to Wellington.

"keep up the bloated monster but don't make me pay my share for it" Yeah catchy, real convincing.

How about, "Cut ACC back to size by making it about accidents".

Or "Keep ACC fair" by levying bikers/drivers once only, and "fund it in public" - so we can see that the bureacrats are doing a good job with our money, and not compensating nutters for recovered emotional harm syndrome, or whatever crap is fashionable this week.

You make a lot of sense.
I can't and won't argue with most of your points.
Though if we can "Save ACC" as it was it would become the thing it was designed to be once again and it would deliver what it should to those it should and only those.
Unions and others who have undoubtedly taken over this particular protest are footing some pretty imnpressive bills for advertising and while you could be right about them simply buddying up to us to get their message across, you should also consider that this has become a general call to the public of NZ to come to Parliament on Tuesday teh 16th of February and voice their disapproval and that the basic message is the same as our was the first time."Who's Next?"
Apart from that, I'll probably miss you at the protest, not the second Bikhoi, lets get that clear.

All right!!! Finally, they have achieved their target. It looks like the professor from chch who spoke at the bikeoi was right. The people are like trout. Not only they can't see behind too far, but they can't see ahead too far either.

Why do you think they started hiking the ACC levies and reducing the entitlements? They can't kill ACC or fully privatise it legaly. They need the population on their side in order to do that. Now, they know that asking us nicely to piss on the ACC won't work but they are smart. What they did was screw the ACC so badly that only hearing of ACC every kiwi will want to run. Once ACC is seen as the black sheep of the country, getting rid of it would be seen as a good deed and the only way of getting rid of it is to sell it off or just can it and allow private insurance companies to take over.

If left to their own devices, they will keep twisting the screw until we we will start asking them to kill ACC or at least privatise. At the moment, they not only have achieved their purpose, but they have also made it look like it was our decision and they only listened to what the people asked for.

And as I was saying in the begining of this post, they are very close. I hear more and more people saying: "Fuck ACC! They're killing us with the ACC. It would be better if it was just an insurance company instead of ACC. It would be cheaper"

Gott agree with you there Centaurus. There has been a long campaign to destablise the ACC system. From my discussions with the Unions and Physiotherapists Associations (I'm one of the organisers of this rally) I would have to say that we are pretty much unanimous that we want to save ACC as the original system that Owen Woodhouse devised. I don't personally believe that any of the groups (apart from maybe some of the members and there's ratbags in every crowd) want to see ACC as the bloated form of compensation it's been partly turned into in order to turn the public away from it.

Did you notice the "news" in the weekend about too many injuries from Dancing? And skateboarding? This is all looking VERY shortsighted. People like caseye think that they will be better off under a privatised scheme but TBH they're thinking selfishly. The original ACC system was designed so that everybody got a fair suck of the saveloy. Changing it to private will cause amazing discrepancies in the system and some people WILL be worse off - and that's going to transfer through to the Health system after only half a generation. So in order to realise a short-term gain we're going to subject our society to massive health problems. Not only that, we will totally change our society and destroy that adventurousness that Kiwis are famous for.

Do you remember at the start of this campaign when we were all worried about the increase in levies to motorcyclists and Ixion warned us that this was only the beginning? They want to change our society completely. And I don't want that.

And THAT's why I'm going to be there on February 16.

And THAT's what I'm going to say to every person assembled there (yes I will be speaking now).

to repeat : I am NOT a Unionist. I'm not even a lefty. I am a New Zealander. And a biker. And they want to change my lifestyle. And I'm not happy. And I'm not a trout. I will bite back.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Dude where the hell were you when 10,000 of us were at Parliament chanting BULLSHIT!
    I smell a rat here.......

You obviously have never read 'Blood on the Coal" there is a pdf of the booklet available online, go call Hazel Armstrong a pinko, she will sue ya ass off

Top of the pile lawyers and academics refute every word of your ill informed posting as quoted, Professor Charles Lamb of Lincoln University, another senior prof at Vic (I forget that mans name but hes on our side 100%)

John Judge was appointed by John Key one week into the new government, where do those two come from? Insurance companies.

ACC was NEVER an insurance company and cant be run like one, there is where it has all gone wrong to start with, it was Jim Bolger that first tried selling it off and its been fucked since

Return it to the woodhouse principles, and they were NEVER soley about accidents

Its been the Accident Prevention, Compensation, and Rehabilitaion Act since its creation, and has never been soley about 'accidents' you national mole.
You chose a hostile audience for your ill informed rant, if you want private insurance go ahead the ACC act does not PREVENT you from choosing to do so and many clauses in the workplace levy system allow you to get a discount for having done such

Where ACC is being ripped off is pricks like John Judge being in charge for a start, he gave himself a 40% payhike, placing him on a par to the bloody Prime Minister in the 1st week he was boss, in a time where every OTHER govt dept had been told 'PAY FREEZE' and every hard working Public Servants are being refused 'cost of living' pay incerases of 2%

You wanna make ACC work better, police it better, get the wankers who landscape thier lawns while on ACC off the take, get the 50+ salaries over 200k out of the offices (they are PUBLIC servants, not CEO's of private firms!) and stop throwing money at private consultant firms for repeatedly re-working reports to suit Nyx Myth

Where di JK come from dude, Merril Lynch and what do they do? Sell insurance (or more accurately buy up small insurers and tear em apart for profits)

You are the lemming you idiot, you cant see the truth for your own inflamatory bullshit
Im no pinko or communist (I leave that to smarter folk) I just wanna see our ACC still there for our kids

Do you think for one second you will ever get the right to sue back?
Do you think its fair that a covenant between the government and our people should be sold off to profit the National party and ACT's investment portfolio's?

Get agrip, and before you start accusing hard working everyday Kiwi's of political leftism, make sure your levies are paid because YOU too are about to suffer a forced pay cut with no consultation or need to

1.7 BILLION excess of operational requirement...

    IT'S NOT FUCKIN BROKE!!!
    Just ride.

    Right.
Exactly how NZ was sold on the idea of introducing ACC in 1974.
But 45 years later, private insurance is cheaper?
