    For those saying "I havent heard from my Union" heres the start of the rolling ball

    Dear rally organising committee,

    We have some really exciting news about advertising for the rally. The CTU has decided to take out advertising at the Rugby 7s to attack the govts approach to ACC and encourage people to attend the rally o nthe 16th. Reduced rate advertising came available at the last minute and a number of unions have agreed to put in money to make it happen. We still intend to leaflet the 7s but we can probably also get some media time around the advert as well.

    I understand that a short 30 seconds video will be made but the coverage is as follows:
    * Event running 5th and 6th February 2009
    * Screens to broadcast live coverage of the tournament from 10am to 2 am (16 hours per day)
    * 250,000 people expected to pass through these sites over the 2 days
    * Screen locations
    o 20 square metres - Stadium concourse, between turnstiles and entrance
    o 25 square metres - Waitangi Park moving to Courtenay Place for the evening on the Saturday
    o 33 square metres - Queens Wharf
    o 20 square metres - Courtenay Place, above Embassy theatre
    * Package of 16 x 30 sec spots per screen, per day therefore a grand total of 128 x 30 sec TVC spots overall

    This will be branded as CTU rather than the ACC Futures Coalition but it will still give us a huge boost.

    Cheers

    Thing is, that pretty much seems to some up a lot of the apathy surrounding the issue. That it does affect everyone. That there are people wanting to do something about it. That it's not just about you and yours. That the social contract between us and our employees that you talk about, is being used as toilet paper in the beehive. And that the alternative will be no better, in fact, as you state, will only make things worse.

    It's just my opinion. Many may not think it should be a statement read on the day... irrespective, i could taste the vitriole as the door was slamming shut, the shame of watching one of your countrymen try to take sides, citing political affiliation as their reason for not going. A clear concise argument as to why we are going back to stand on the lawn at parliament... mate, if it's within your power to read it or get it read, give it a context, slap on a bit of lippy and spew some fire at your countrymen!!! see if it catches!
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!

    Rather than steal a week's wages off me every year so that they can sell off ACC to their insurance company mates?

    HELL YEAH.
    And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
