    Yamaha kick start issue

My mate has a YZF250 2002, basicly we can kick it over fine thats no problem but once kicked over if we fold the kick start in it starts making like a grinding noise ( Similar to if you holded down the kick start once started but with out the kick back lol for anyone thats done that before...)

So we leave it half folded in and it doesn't make any noise, but im waiting for the time he catchs it on something and rips it clean off...

Anyways haven't had a good look at it yet but just wondering if anyone has any ideas?

    Cheers
    CB

i would be takin the covers off and having a look sounds like maybe one of the springs has failed or weakened causing to not disengage properly or something else in there is loose.

yeah i built a tt600 from a couple a boxes of part a few years back using that site as a reference to what went where. The 00 at the end of the part numbers just refers to it being US so leave that off.
