Who bought the crashed zx10r at Turners (Palm Nth)?

anyone know who bought the zx10r that was stolen and crashed in milson that went for auction yesterday at turners in Palmerston North?

And what will be the outcome to it? $1900 has to be a good buy. I looked it over and if I didnt have so much other things going on right now I would hvae bought it myself.

    Maybe.
I've bought a few bikes that have been crashed. In fact my very first bike was involved in a very serious crash - the female owner spent YEARS recovering. It was repaired to near-new condition, then I bought it and after several minor crashes, I wrote it off after about 15 months. A guy I know (friend of the family) who is one day older'n me wrote his bike (XS650) off at the same time (for both of us, it was the day after our birthday), in an almost identical accident. His bike had been in previous accidents too - two previous owners had been killed on it.

The worst bike I owned was a black VFR750. I'm sure the colour has something to do with it - that XS650 was also black. The VFR showed signs of crash repairs, and it was either jinxed or terminally lazy, because it had a wee lie down in the road on four (4!) occasions. They were all bizarre: the first was an invisible softdrink can squashed on the road (lowside), followed by an apparently suicidal pedestrian, then a blind and terminally stupid lane changer the week I got it back from the paint shop, and finally a sleep driver who drove his car without clearing the fogged-up windows or signally his intention to perform an illegal u-turn.

No other bikes I've owned have been as bad as that VFR. I was going to keep it and fix it up, but my wife vetoed it, bless her heart. (A wife is always right, eh?)

The scary thing is all these bikes were resurrected, so the bad karma continued...
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

You never know what's wrong with a bike till you REALLY look at it. A quick once over is bound to miss shit, every time. Sold a wreck to a guy once, he was chuffed about it, thought he got a good deal, so I asked him to keep me updated. He took it away, came back and told me the bike was pretty much fucked and it would be uneconomical to fix it.

    Caveat emptor.

One of them was mine. Looks like it's sold. Would love to know how much it went for.

I would have brought mine back if I had the money to have two. But then again, I know what I did to it so knew it wasn't that bad.
