Afternoon all my loverly KB'rs hope you had a good lunch.
Im just buildinging up a mount for my camera this weekend and just wanted some input on my plan.
basically, the mount screws into the fairings in the existing bolt holes so I dont have to drill and holes in the fairing,
on the front left hand side of the bike under the handlebars

I intend to cut a plate that will be flush with the top of said fairing similar to
![]()
Then weld on the side plate that should run 90' degress from the first plate and run flush with the side of the bike
![]()
then weld a small plate on the bottom sticking out from bike perpendicular
and drill a hole for a bolt to got up the bottom that will screw into the tripod hole on the bottom of the camera
![]()
So in the end it should work like this
![]()
Equipment I intend to use
Gas welding kit
Drill
and a file for edges
maybe some spray paint to avoid rusting.
and some sort of rubber feet to help absorb vibrations to go on the side between the bike fairing and the mount.
1 bolt (for camera) and proberly a dozen washers as my bolt is a bit too long
metal scraps
Limitations:
has to be removable.
as ugly as my bike is, it still shouldnt get any uglier
has to cost $0
If at all possible Id like to use as much of the junk I have before the inorganic comes around. also its more fun to make stuff work with what youve got than to go buy something.
cant have too much vibration
well. duh.
anyway, flood me with your constructive critizms.
