You seem to be asumming any chase will be in an urban area

Moot point really, if a chase crept up to the speeds your talking about the car would abort & take it's directions from a helicopter. I think it may have been on 5th gear were they put a ducati on track with a ferrari, Leon Haslam riding. The car just about went over the bike on the brakes, acceleration was the only + for the bike.

It doesn't matter where it happens, it's just that the power to weight ratio of many modern sports bike is something that a large 4 door car simply can't match.

A large 4 door car maybe, but you wait until you meet a quick car on the open road with a driver who knows his stuff, and he'll hand you your arse on a plate, cars brake later and corner faster

The car has better mileage, better cornering and thats about it? If it was a chase through some twisties then the Porsche would just have to crawl through at the speed limit and look for the crashed bike in the ditch on the side of the road.

What the hell would you know? Knowledge and experience are no match for noobs with big imaginations.

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

how many chases fail because the runner is in a faster vehicle than the cop car anyway? and multiply that by the probability that the Porsche would actually be in the area and able to pursue and you have got a very expensive car thats of very little benefit. However the psychological benefits are probably where its at, knowing theres a cop car that will piss all over whatever you are riding/driving is quite a good deterrent from running in the first place i would imagine. Fleet of Evos and WRXs like on that tv series is a better choice imo.

I challenge any road legal car in NZ to a timed race through the Parapara.

In the event that no one accepts this challenge then it is accepted as a law of nature that Bike pwns car.

Or hows about the car trying to keep up running on 1300cc?

Generally speaking, bugger all of these high powered/sporty car owners can drive them to their potential. I've smoked plenty of flash Hondas, Altezza, BMW 540, Legacy GTB and a VR4 thru the twistly bits of Desert Rd with my ex taxi Falcon on steel 15" rims.
