My speed largely depends on my mood, if I feell grumpy I drop the bike at least twice on the motoerway or when I feel cranky I might get it into first gear.....

Depends on the conditions, traffic weather etc. I like to sit just over 100kmh, 110max on straight roads. Corners i can see through get what they deserve.

That's not your "average" speed. What you are seeking is peoples's "preferred" speed. Big difference.

My Prefered speed on the open road is 125....There is a "zone" there for me and bike

Otherwise alway under 140 because I do not want to be walking and.....

Always to the conditions...Dry road, good Vis, little traffic, little wind or tail wind up to 135.

Pissing down on a cold, wet, windy, night on a twisty road, with tar snakes, and cars coming towards me who do not dim their lights in time.... I have been known to say "stuff that" and pull into a friends place or a motel for the night.

When travelling point to point, eg. Auckland-Wellington, I'd try to average 100kph, including all stops, 50/70 k zones, etc. This meant open road cruising 130-140 where ever possible (and quicker at times ....). This was easily possible for about 30 yrs - now with the anal approach to policing, it is a little more difficult.
Going for a ride, it would be as fast as felt comfortable, given the road, traffic, riding buddies, etc etc....... generally the zone 100-180 kph, or, again, quicker where circumstances permit.
These days, when I commute (210k round trip), it's around 120-130 on highways, and traffic flow speeds +5 in built up areas - ie - 65-75kph

Last time I was on d'Auckland's Southern Motorway, I travelled 33km in 18 minutes. The odo is pretty accurate according to the speedo checks scattered along that stretch of road. Do the maths and you have an average speed during those 18 minutes of exaccery 110km/hr. Which is about what I was aiming for.
