So this is what has become of The Cruisy Wednesday Night Rides......
Since UncleB departed us, I attended just one TCWNR about a year ago. I was appalled to see some dickhead in full alpinestars leathers on a R6 popping wheelies past the bridge in towards the carpark area. Had it been two years earlier, I would have politely told him to "F#@% Off!" But after three years away from TCWNR, I had become somewhat of a stranger. I realised before the ride even started that TCWNR had lost its purpose.
I remember sitting down with Bruce and writing the Spiel that would be the "Rules & Conditions" for attending TCWNR. They fronted TCWNR forum thread and clearly stated that a lead and tail end would always be assigned and if you felt you couldn't remain within the group because you needed a blat, that TCWNR was not for you. It was harsh but it drew the line well, In the interests of the newbie riders.
It's a shame it's gone out the window. TCWNR's were proof (Initially) that group rides can work very well.

So is there any other Welly rides happening now or is everybody just doing their own thing?

Uncle Uly is still operating in this area with an element of restraint and decorum. One needs to be an old fart but!

I haven't attended a lot of these rides over the last couple of years but will no doubt tray again next year to see if anything's changed. I blame Sels for the problems...he's a bit of bogan nowadays.
