Oh bugger
Oil cooler is behind the front number plate ,I have a dr650 oilcooler cover modded to stop a few stones hitting the cooler, has worked well after 25k's and yea it does hang out in the breeze but no probs so far.
Get yourself one from the homeland mate - that Remus is the shizzle!
I'll have to come 'round and check out the new weapon, or better still we should go for a wee cruise somewhere...

I still don't like the sound of the Remus much. It's too raw and raucous, there are sweet as honey sounding mufflers for the 1200 engine on Buells. Microns have a much more mellow and richer - big block - sound. Others do too.

You're always welcome Paul, I'z got a Coffee cup with your name on it, which is a bit odd really considering my name's Mart
That's Ok big dude, you likes what you likes, personally I think it sounds the best of the bunch available for the xr1200 but of the 20 or so options I've perused, only one or two sound remotely like the big block sound.
I have no idea why that should be and it is a bit of a shame but then again it is a fair bit different to any other Harley and the different noise just adds to it's 'differentness' I guess.
Any way, shush will ya, by bemoaning the lack of 'proper Harleyness' in my lovely XR, I am paving the way for an old style hog to join the stable![]()
Oh bugger
Can you debaffle the stock XR1200 pipe? or does it sound terrible?
It's always possible with the right tools but by the design it would appear they'd really rather you didn't. A fairly common mod in Yankee land is to drill holes in the end cap for more noise.
I think if you did rip out the baffling I think it would sound a bit like these, dash slipons from the uk.
Oh bugger
a good reason to get rid of the mufflers is that they weigh a ton
