Get yourself one from the homeland mate - that Remus is the shizzle!

I'll have to come 'round and check out the new weapon, or better still we should go for a wee cruise somewhere...

I still don't like the sound of the Remus much. It's too raw and raucous, there are sweet as honey sounding mufflers for the 1200 engine on Buells. Microns have a much more mellow and richer - big block - sound. Others do too.

Well you're probaly right (again) BD. You see, I don't have the privilege of having heard all the options in the flesh...

As with all things, it's an individual choice I guess..

That's all good - one day I'll get some decent speakers hooked up to the PC which will help with the sound quality.
Either that or land a job like yours...(I'd be happier with the second option just quietly, I bet you haven't heard that one in the last 45 seconds...)

You're always welcome Paul, I'z got a Coffee cup with your name on it, which is a bit odd really considering my name's Mart

That's Ok big dude, you likes what you likes, personally I think it sounds the best of the bunch available for the xr1200 but of the 20 or so options I've perused, only one or two sound remotely like the big block sound.

I have no idea why that should be and it is a bit of a shame but then again it is a fair bit different to any other Harley and the different noise just adds to it's 'differentness' I guess.

Any way, shush will ya, by bemoaning the lack of 'proper Harleyness' in my lovely XR, I am paving the way for an old style hog to join the stable

It's always possible with the right tools but by the design it would appear they'd really rather you didn't. A fairly common mod in Yankee land is to drill holes in the end cap for more noise.

I think if you did rip out the baffling I think it would sound a bit like these, dash slipons from the uk.

a good reason to get rid of the mufflers is that they weigh a ton
