armitage, I forgot that we all need to ride bikes with a gazillion horsepower and no soul,I ride mine everday and it puts a smile on my dial everytime I hit the button .
Point taken and now I've actually done some research today , which I guess I should have done before doh. Hope this is a turning point , HD's seem to me have always seemed as the same Bikes in different clothes year in year out = yawn. Sounds like the XR12 can do stuff previous Harley's could'nt so ......
Gonna book a test ride this week.....on a XR1200
Keep you posted .....
Both. And "a tad heavy" is an understatement.
The stock front heat shield drags on the road in right handers if you hang it out. I've noticed that many who don't change the exhaust system entirely tend to at least remove the heat shields from the stock system for safety's sake - the result is quite ugly. Slip on mufflers look like shit as well and don't solve the aforementioned ground clearance problem. A whole new exhaust system is the best answer.
Just make sure that if you go the new pipe route, that you budget for a decent fuel / ignition module and half a day on a dyno as well otherwise you'll just end up with a loud backfiring bike that runs like absolute shit.
Yea made my own 2-1 with yoshi muffler as this bike screams for a good exaust and fitted a pro tuner and ohlins shocks and big piston forks arrgh it just goes on and on I just can't leave my bikes stock lol.
What they said!

I think you will shit yourself when you find out the price of the remus and a few guys on the xr forum had there one's crack at the headers but I think remus sorted it for them and as far as I no the last remus dealer was in taranaki but no more.
