I know the warranty and service manual says that. It's bullshit though. They are obliged to honour any manufacturing defects for a couple of years regardless of who did the servicing.

Yeah, I meant as in a service dude trying to look the owner in the eye whilst claiming that.

    It isn't about luck.

Check out the consumer guarantees act. Certain products are expected to last a certain amount of time regardless if the manufacturer states a warranty or not. Honda, Suzuki etc aren't offering a warranty out of the goodness of their heart. They have to. They cannot turn their backs on any manufacturing defects simply because you didn't use their dealer workshops for servicing. They simply want you to believe that so they can put more of your money in their pockets.

The US has been all through this in a few court rulings and the dealers over there no longer push that bullshit on its customers... http://www.wheels.ca/article/19839

Even Australia is starting to wise up to it... http://www.specialistcarcentre.com.au/ACCC.htm

And if it comes down to that over here... the dealers will not want public court rulings going against them either (and they will) which will let the cat out of the bag for everybody else.

CBRs are easy to work on i have 1000RR and servicing is faster then my old bandit (apart from sparkplug change that is a pain)....
